EASTON, Mass. (March 25, 2014) – Stonehill College has swept the Northeast-10 Conference women's tennis weekly awards with sophomore Bailey Paradiso (Birmingham, Mich./Marian) earning Player of the Week honors for the second time this season, while freshman Amanda DePasquale (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry) has been named the NE-10's Freshman of the Week for the first time.

Paradiso is one of three Stonehill women's tennis student-athletes to collect Player of the Week accolades this season, along with senior Kaitlyn Martin (Mattapoisett, Mass./Medway) on September 24, and sophomore Analise Kump (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) who earned the honors last week to give the Skyhawks back-to-back award winners. DePasquale joins classmate Lorraine Smith (Littleton, Colo./D'Evelyn) as NE-10 Rookie of the Week selections this year after Smith earned the honors back on September 24.

Paradiso, who has now been named the NE-10 Player of the Week four times over her two year career, posted a combined 4-0 record in singles and doubles play for Stonehill over two events last week. She was a double-winner in the Skyhawks 8-1 victory over Assumption College in their lone dual match of the week and then teamed up with Martin to win the Flight A doubles bracket at Sunday's Wheaton College Invitational. Paradiso and sophomore Kirsti Toegemann (Narragansett, R.I./The Lincoln School) posted an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles against the Greyhounds before she added a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of senior Paige Gilet at No. 2 singles.

Paradiso and Martin opened Sunday's Wheaton Invitational with an 8-2 semifinal round win over Caroline DiNicola and Michelle Trainor from Wheaton before blanking another Wheaton tandem of Jessica Moore and Izzy Gorham 8-0 in the final.

Paradiso is a combined 26-7 in singles and doubles play this season. She has posted an 11-4 singles mark, including 6-0 against Northeast-10 opposition, while registering a 15-3 doubles clip with three different playing partners. She and Toegemann are ranked ninth in the most recent ITA East doubles rankings with a 6-2 record overall, including 3-0 in league play.

Paradiso, who earned NE-10 All-Rookie team honors as well as All-Northeast-10 second team accolades at No. 3 doubles with Kump as a freshman, has posted a 68-24 record overall in singles and doubles play over her two seasons at Stonehill. She owns a 26-16 (.619) singles record to go with an overall doubles mark of 42-8 (.840), posting a 14-4 singles record in NE-10 matches and 17-1 (.944) doubles clip in league play. Paradiso was ranked as high as 12th in the ITA East singles rankings as a freshman, becoming the first singles player in program history to earn a regional ranking.

DePasquale reached two flight finals and finished with a 2-1 combined record for Stonehill at Sunday's Wheaton Invitational. She placed second in the Flight C singles bracket, posting a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Caroline McCarthy from Roger Williams University in the semifinals before falling to Wheaton's Sarah Crom 6-4, 6-4 in the final. DePasquale also teamed up with sophomore Caitlin McKinney (Braintree, Mass./Braintree) to reach the Flight B doubles final with an 8-5 decision over Caroline Stanclift and Stassy Furber from Wheaton in the semifinals. Their finals match was not played as both Skyhawks were also competing in singles finals.

DePasquale is a combined 9-2 in singles and doubles play during her first collegiate season for Stonehill. She has recorded a 2-1 singles mark to go with a 7-1 doubles record with three different playing partners. DePasquale and Paradiso have been paired together six times, posting a 5-1 record, winning their lone NE-10 match, with a 3-0 clip at No. 3 doubles. DePasquale was named to both the NE-10 Commissioner's and Athletic Director's Honor Rolls for her efforts in the classroom for the Fall 2013 semester.

Stonehill (12-2, 6-0 NE-10), ranked ninth in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Regional rankings release last Wednesday, is in action this afternoon with a Northeast-10 dual match against rival Bentley University at the Sally Blair Ames Sports Complex at 3 p.m.
