EASTON, Mass. (April 10, 2011) – Stonehill College, currently ranked fourth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Regional poll, claimed a key Northeast-10 Conference match with a 6-3 decision over sixth-ranked Adelphi University this afternoon at home.

Stonehill won two of three doubles matches for a strong start against an Adelphi squad which entered today ranked just behind the Skyhawks in third place in the NE-10 standings. Junior Leah White (Walpole, Mass./Bishop Feehan) and freshman Kaitlyn Martin (Medway, Mass./Medway) rebounded from just their second doubles defeat of the season Friday with an 8-5 victory at No. 2 this afternoon to notch their 20th overall win, and junior Amy Toegemann (Narragansett, R.I./The Lincoln School) and sophomore Chelsea Haedrich (Islip, N.Y./Islip) cruised to their sixth straight win 8-1 at No. 3.
