NE10 Women's Soccer Weekly Report: Week 9

EASTON, Massachusetts (November 4, 2019) – The Stonehill College women's soccer team, who recently received a NCAA Division II East Region ranking of No. 4, saw junior defender Tess Erwin earn Northeast-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league Monday afternoon. The Skyhawks are also ranked No. 20 in this week's United Soccer Coaches' National poll and No. 2 in the East Regional poll.

Erwin assisted the Skyhawks to their fourth shutout of the season and third double overtime draw of the season last week. The center back was a key part of Stonehill's defense as they only allowed one goal in the 1-1 tie against Pace University, following that up with a 4-0 victory against Saint Anselm College. The draw was the team's second-straight tie of the season, following a 1-1 draw against Adelphi.

Over the two games, Stonehill averaged a 0.45 goals against bringing their average to 0.96 for the season putting them third in the Conference.

Stonehill (11-3-3, 8-1-3 NE10) hosts Southern Connecticut State University (8-6-3, 5-4-3 NE10) tomorrow, Tuesday, November 5 on Skyhawk Field for their final regular season game of the season before finding out the standings for the NE10 Tournament which begins Sunday, November 10.
