COLCHESTER, Vermont (September 24, 2019) – The Stonehill College women's soccer team, who is ranked No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches' East Region poll, earned its sixth-straight victory with its second shutout of the season over Northeast-10 Conference foe, 1-0, on Tuesday afternoon on Duffy Field.

Stonehill's (6-1, 4-0 NE10) sophomore Camryn Thompson recorded her fourth goal of the season and 13th goal of her career, while classmate Megan Giambanco tapped in her third goal of the season, with assist from freshman Bella MacNeil. Junior Kayla Henry also found the back of the net to cap off the Skyhawk's fourth-straight NE10 victory.

The Skyhawks outshot the Purple Knights at the end of the first half 12-1, as Thompson put the lone goal in the back of the net in the first half at 40:50. The freshman carried the ball past defenders from midfield to the 18-yard box, sending it to the bottom right corner for a 1-0 lead. Stonehill was able to send off six corner kicks in the first half, as they only recorded on shot on goal following the set piece.

The Purple Knights saw back-to-back corner kicks to start the second half and Saint Michael only saw Emma Houston with a shot on goal, as senior Kaitlin Brown (Walpole, Massachusetts/Walpole) recorded her first save of the game.  Late in the second half, MacNeil came down the side of the field with the ball and crossed it in front of the net for a tap in by Giambanco for her third goal of the season, as MacNeil tallied her first-career point with the helper. The goal put the Skyhawks up by two at 75:24. Two minutes before the end of regulation, Stonehill's Henry knocked in her fourth goal of the season and 13th-career tally, as she found the back of the net off a set piece, from Saint Michael's seventh foul of the game.

Stonehill returns home to host American International College on Saturday, September 28 for a NE10 battle on Skyhawk Field with a 2:00 p.m. kickoff.
