EASTON, Massachusetts (September 23, 2019) – The Stonehill College women's soccer team, ranked No. 10 in the United Soccer Coaches' East Regional poll saw junior Kayla Henry earn her first Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week honor, as announced by the league on Monday.

Henry assisted the Skyhawks to a 2-0 week, including a 4-1 victory over No. 18 Franklin Pierce University, their first win over a ranked opponent since 2016. Stonehill also defeated Le Moyne College, 3-1, on Skyhawk Field on Saturday, extending their win streak to five and continuing an undefeated NE10 record. Over the two games last week, Henry tallied two goals and two assists for six points, bringing her career totals to 12 goals and 11 assists for 35 points.

With a 1-0 lead against the Ravens, Henry extended the lead to 2-0 in the 16th minute of the game after collecting a headed ball from Alex GiardinaHenry collected the ball with her knees and launched the ball from just inside the 18-yard box. This would be her first game-winning goal of the season, and fourth of her career. Late in the first half and less than a minute following the Raven's goal, Henry took another chance on net sprinting past two defenders to put the Skyhawks back up by 2, 3-1. She also assisted in Giardina's goal in the 71st minute of the game.

Against Le Moyne, Stonehill was down 1-0 when in the 20th minute of the game, Henry sent a free ball from just outside the 18-yard box on the left side to the front left post, finding senior Nicole Geraghty who sent the ball in to even the score at one, 1-1. The Skyhawks would later score two goals in the second half to secure their fifth-straight win, 3-1.

Stonehill (5-1, 3-0 NE10) travels to Colchester, Vermont for a NE10 battle as they face Saint Michael's College on Tuesday, September 24 with a start time of 3:30 p.m.
