Northeast-10 Announces All-Conference Teams

EASTON, Mass. (November 3, 2017) – Stonehill College women's soccer freshman midfielder Nicole Garfield (Manchester, Connecticut/East Catholic) has been named to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie for her first NE10 accolade, the league office announced Friday.

Garfield and classmate Alex Giardina (Middletown, Connecticut/Middletown) led the Skyhawks this year in goals, as they each tallied five, while Garfield also notched five assists to also lead the team in assists. In the conference, Garfield finished 10th in goals and seventh in assists. The Manchester, Connecticut native began her collegiate debut appearing in a 3-1 victory over New York Institute of Technology and followed that by starting in her first game against Nyack College. The freshman recorded her first-collegiate point with an assist during the 5-0 triumph.

Garfield later went on a three-game scoring streak, as she tallied back-to-back goals against Assumption College, Le Moyne College, and No. 7 LIU Post late in September. During the game against the Dolphins, she recorded the Skyhawks' third goal of the game and she assisted in the last goal for her first three-point match.

Garfield continued her offensive attack this year with a goal in a 3-1 victory over Franklin Pierce University and then recorded another three-straight games of two assists and one goal in the beginning of October. Her last tally came at the end of the season in a 2-1 win over American International College as she recorded her final helper of the year.

A 2017 graduate of East Catholic High School, the freshman started in 14 of the 18 games this season. In high school she played varsity soccer all four years and was tabbed on the All-Academic team, All-Conference teams, and All-State teams. She was also selected as the State Tournament MVP her sophomore year, while receiving the Coaches' Award her senior year. Garfield played club soccer for Oakwood Soccer Club.

Stonehill concluded the season with a 7-11-0 overall mark and a 5-9-0 NE10 Conference record. The Skyhawks finished 10th in the conference out of 15 teams.
