Beiter tallies her third goal of her career
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (October 29, 2016) – The Stonehill College women's soccer team dropped its final Northeast-10 regular season contest against Le Moyne College, 2-1, Saturday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.
Despite the setback, the Skyhawks have still qualified for next week's NE-10 Championship as the fourth seed. Stonehill will host fifth seed The College of Saint Rose. The two met in mid-September as the Skyhawks surpassed the Golden Knights, 8-1.

Stonehill's (12-5-1, 8-5-1 NE-10) Lydia Beiter (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) was able to cut the deficit to one with an unassisted goal in the 74th minute of the game.
Le Moyne's (9-7-1, 7-6-1 NE-10) Rachel Terry and Kelsi Fredericks tallied the goals for the Dolphins. Kristen Colegrove and Claire Stackel recorded the helpers.
The Dolphins were able to contain the Skyhawks to only two shots in the first half. Le Moyne's 14 chances in the first half included a goal in the 35th minute of the game by Terry as Colegrove sent a free kick to the top of the box. Terry found the bottom left corner of the net putting the Dolphins up 1-0.
In the rest of the half, Le Moyne got off two of its four corner kicks, including back-to-back chances in the 40th minute.
The Dolphins extended its lead to two in the 62nd minute as Fredericks headed the ball off a corner kick form Colegrove. The tally came from the top of the goal box sending the ball to the right side of the net. Stonehill was able to get off eight shots in the second and five corner kicks to Le Moyne's eight shots and eight corner kicks.
The Skyhawks cut the deficit to one with a goal in the 74th minute of the game, when Beiter launched a bullet from 15 yards out finding the lower left side of the net as she was able to tally her third goal of her career. Stonehill held Le Moyne to four shots in the remaining minutes of the game, as the Skyhawks also recorded four shots and we unable to capitalize on the opportunities.
Stonehill, who finished fourth in the conference with 25 points, opens up Northeast-10 Tournament play at home on Skyhawk Field for a 1 p.m. game versus the College of Saint Rose, who finished fifth in the league with 24 points. This is the fourth time in eight years that the Skyhawks have reached the Northeast-10 Quarterfinals.
