Northeast-10 Conference Women's Soccer Weekly Report

EASTON, Mass. (September 14, 2015) – Stonehill College freshman midfielder Madalyn Fernbach (Plainview, New York/Plainview JFK) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's Rookie of the Week for women's soccer, the league office announced earlier today.

Fernbach earns Rookie of the Week honors for the first time in her career following her two-goal performance on Friday in Stonehill's 3-0 victory at Molloy College. The Plainview, New York native gave the Skyhawks a 2-0 lead in the 86th minute with her first collegiate goal, before finding the back of the net again just over two minutes later when she collected a loose ball in the box and chipped a shot over the Molloy goalkeeper.

Fernbach has appeared in all four matches for Stonehill this season, making two starts, and her two goals lead the team.

A 2015 graduate of Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School in Plainview, N.Y., Fernbach was a member of the varsity soccer team all four years, earning All-County and team MVP honors as a junior and senior.

Stonehill (1-2-1, 0-0 NE-10) opens the NE-10 portion of its schedule on Wednesday, as the Skyhawks are scheduled to host Franklin Pierce University at 4 p.m. Stonehill then hits the road this weekend for a matchup at the College of Saint Rose on Saturday at 2 p.m.
