GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (September 12, 2010) – The Stonehill College women’s soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to host Adelphi University in a Northeast-10 matchup Sunday.

Stonehill senior Kirstie St. Martin (Providence, R.I./Mount Saint Charles Academy) scored in the 20th minute to give the Skyhawks an early lead, but Adelphi came back in the second half with two unanswered goals from senior Kim Volinski (Greenport, N.Y./Greenport) and sophomore Allison Gronenthal (Levittown, N.Y./Island Trees) to take the victory.

Stonehill went ahead 1-0 at 19:36, when junior Kelsey Mahoney (Rehoboth, Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth) lined a pass from midfield to St. Martin, who put away her seventh goal of the season.
