Stonehill Puts Five on All-NE-10 Lacrosse Teams
Craig, Ladino and Galligan
earn first team All-Conference honors
Lynott and Moore picked to second team, while Moore also named to

EASTON, Mass. (May 11, 2010) – Five members of the Stonehill College women's lacrosse team, ranked sixth in this week's Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) Division II poll, have earned All-Northeast-10 Conference honors as selected by the Conference's 12 head coaches.
Senior defender Jaclyn Craig (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point), senior midfielder Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass./Dartmouth) and sophomore attack Sarah Galligan (West Newbury, Mass./Pentucket Regional) all earned first team All-Northeast-10 Conference honors from Stonehill. Sophomore attack Samantha Lynott (Holbrook, N.Y./East Sachem) and freshman goalkeeper Rebecca Moore (Marlborough, Mass./St. Mark's School) were both selected to the All-NE-10 second team, while Moore was also honored with a spot on the Conference's All-Rookie team.
Craig, the 2009 NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year, earns All-Northeast-10 Conference honors for the fourth time with her third-straight first team selection. She has started 13 of the 14 games she played for Stonehill this season and posted 24 ground balls, 30 draw controls and 13 caused turnovers. She was the leader of a defensive unit which ranks second in the NE-10 with an 8.57 team goals against average and third with 12.44 caused turnovers per game. The team is allowing just 3.69 goals per game in the second half this year.
Craig, a three-time first team All-American and All-North Region selection, has appeared in 64 career games and totaled 114 ground balls, 117 draw controls and 68 caused turnovers. She has also chipped in on offense with six goals and three assists for nine points over her career.
Craig, a two-time NE-10 All-Academic honoree, was recently named an Edward E. Martin Scholar-Athlete Award winner at Stonehill. She is also a St. Thomas Aquinas medal recipient for having the highest cumulative grade point average on the women's lacrosse team.
Ladino earns All-Conference honors for the first time with her first team selection. She has started all 16 games so far this year and has totaled 26 goals and 13 assists for 39 points, with one game-winning goal, 41 ground balls, a team-best 49 draw controls and 17 caused turnovers. Ladino ranks fourth among NE-10 leaders with 13 free-position goals.
Ladino, a two-time All-American for Stonehill's field hockey team, has played 65 games over her career with the lacrosse team, totaling 92 goals and 33 assists for 125 career points, also adding three game-winners, 120 ground balls, 123 draw controls and 72 caused turnovers. She has earned first team All-Northeast-10 honors this year in both field hockey and lacrosse.
Galligan, also a first time All-Conference pick with her first team selection, has emerged as one of the top scorers in the NE-10 in her second collegiate season. She ranks in the top ten among Conference leaders with her team-best 71 points on 46 goals and 25 assists, having started all 16 games for the Skyhawks. Galligan also leads the team with 57 ground balls (5th NE-10) to go with 11 draw controls, 25 caused turnovers and three game-winning goals (6th).
In two seasons at Stonehill, Galligan has played 31 games and totaled 62 goals and 27 assists for 89 points, adding four game-winning goals, 73 ground balls, 16 draw controls and 34 caused turnovers. She earned NE-10 Player of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks for the Skyhawks in early April.
Lynott also enjoyed a breakout sophomore season for Stonehill to earn All-Conference honors for the first time with her selection to the second team. She ranks second on the team with 64 points (14th NE-10) and 21 assists (9th) to go with 43 goals (11th), leading the team with four game-winning goals (3rd), while adding 39 ground balls, 29 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers. Her 16 free-position goals lead the NE-10.
Lynott has appeared in 32 games over her two seasons at Stonehill, totaling 58 goals and 26 assists for 84 points, adding 46 ground balls, 36 draw controls and 21 caused turnovers.
Moore earns a spot on the All-Conference second team and All-Rookie squad during a strong freshman season in the Stonehill goal. She has played all but 50:49 in the net for the Skyhawks, ranking second among NE-10 leaders with her 8.59 goals against average and .522 save percentage, averaging 8.94 saves per game in 912-minutes, 11-seconds played.
Moore was named to the NE-10 All-Championship team over the weekend after averaging 19 saves per game in Stonehill's two Tournament matches, including a season-high 20 in Saturday's 15-8 semifinal win over 9th-ranked Merrimack College. She has earned NE-10 Goalkeeper of the Week honors once this season and Freshman of the Week twice.
Stonehill (13-3, 10-1 NE-10) has earned its sixth NCAA Tournament bid in program history and first since 2007. The third-seeded Skyhawks will visit second-seeded and defending National Champions Adelphi University for a first round matchup on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Saturday's winner will advance to the 2010 NCAA Division II Championships, hosted by Gettysburg College, May 22 and 23 in Pennsylvania.
