Easton, Mass. -
The Stonehill College Women's Lacrosse team (7-1, 5-0 Northeast-10 Conference) claimed their seventh win of the season, defeating the Southern New Hampshire Penmen (6-5, 5-1 Northeast-10 Conference), 16-12.  The match up showcased two nationally ranked schools with undefeated conference records.  In the end, a second-half surge from the Skyhawks propelled them over the visiting Penmen, increasing the program's unbeaten streak to 73-straight games.

Michelle Kelly (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham) once again led the Skyhawks.  She collected eight total points from six goals and two assists.  Kelly, a junior, scored four times in the first half, as the Skyhawks managed only six goals in the game's opening frame.  For the second consecutive game, Stonehill entered the half trailing a Northeast-10 opponent.

A determined Skyhawks offense scored four unanswered goals to take the lead 10-7.  Kelly scored twice while senior Kristin Darrell (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) and sophomore Liza Gross (Loudonville, N.Y./Shaker) each added a marker.

Southern N.H. narrowed Stonehill's lead to 11-10, but Stonehill answered back with another four-goal run late in the period.  Gross found the back of the net again.  Rebecca Cottam added her second score of the season, as well.  Junior Mary Maloney (Great River, N.Y./St. Anthony's) and senior Christa LaRocco (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) each added to Stonehill's streak - the two added separate scores later to cement the Stonehill win.

Southern N.H.'s Libby Parent carried the Penmen, scoring three times and adding four assists.  Teammate Carole Lee added three goals in defeat as well.  Goaltender Katie Clark held Stonehill's high scoring offense in check for most of the game, registering 14 saves.

The Skyhawks will return to action Tuesday.  The women will travel to Bryant (7-3, 5-1 Northeast-10) to take on the Bulldogs in a Tuesday night match up.  Game time is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
