Jaye and Kase lead Skyhawks after first day with scores of 82
VERONA, N.Y. (October 13, 2019) - Stonehill College sits in fourth place after the first round of the 2019 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Golf Championship, hosted by Le Moyne College, on the 5,822-yard, par-72, layout of the Shenendoah Course at Turning Stone Resort this afternoon.
Stonehill posted a 332 team score on Sunday, its lowest in three NE10 Championship rounds to date, and is among a five team pack separated by just 12 strokes after the first round. Franklin Pierce University, with four golfers in the top seven, leads the team standings with a 306 team score, leading second place Assumption College, with a score of 325, by 19 strokes. The Greyhounds lead host Le Moyne (330) by five strokes, with Stonehill two strokes behind the Dolphins and a stroke in front of fifth place Southern New Hampshire University (333), with sixth place College of Saint Rose (337) within touch as well.
Franklin Pierce freshman Jinnapat Rittawee leads the individual standings after an even par opening round of 72. She leads Le Moyne's Bianca Cruz-Hernandez (+1, 73), who owns a five-stroke advantage on the rest of the field, by one stroke.

Stonehill was led on Sunday by freshmen Abby Jaye and Emily Kase who posted first round scores of 82 to sit in a tie for tenth place overall. Jaye is tied for fifth in the field for par-5 scoring at 5.25 (+1), carding a birdie on the par-4 seventh hole. Kase was even par through five holes, including a birdie on the par-3 third hole, finishing her round with eight pars.
Sophomore Sloane Van Zanen and freshman Julia Dapron follow Stonehill's two freshmen leaders with rounds of 84, good for a tie for 19th. Dapron is among four golfers in the field to play the course's par three's at even par, while ranking third with her 11 pars in the opening round. She played the front nine at one-over-par (37), opening her round with a birdie on the par-4 first and was even par through six holes. Sophomore Alexis Annarummo rounds out the Skyhawks on Sunday with a 93, including a birdie on the par-5 eighth hole.
The NE10 Championship concludes with second round play at Turning Stone Resort's Shenendoah Course tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
