PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. (January 29, 2019) – Stonehill College, ranked No. 7 in this week's D2SIDA East Region rankings, held off a late Pace University comeback effort to close out a three game road trip with a 64-59 victory in Northeast-10 Conference women's basketball action at the Goldstein Fitness Center tonight.

Freshman Kayla Raymond filled the boxscore for Stonehill with season-highs of 23 points, including 15 in the second half, nine rebounds and five assists, along with a blocked shot, finishing 10-for-14 from the field, draining her lone three-point attempt. Sophomore Jennifer Worden was the only other Skyhawk in double-figures, scoring nine of her 11 points in the fourth quarter, finishing 9-for-13 from the free-throw line, with seven rebounds, three assists, four steals and two blocked shots.

Senior Maty Diabate contributed six points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals for Stonehill, while junior Grace Carter chipped in seven points and two assists.

Sophomore Lauren Schetter led three Pace players in double-figures with 18 points, four rebounds and two steals, while junior Jackie DelliSanti added 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting, with six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Freshman Brianna Wong finished with ten points, six boards, five assists and four steals, while sophomore Naya Rivera pulled down a team-high eight rebounds for the Setters.

Stonehill grabbed an eight-point lead (14-6) after Raymond capped a 10-2 run with her lone three-point basket of the game with 1:17 remaining in the opening quarter. The Skyhawks carried a six-point lead (14-8) into the second quarter and regained their eight-point cushion (24-16) following a layup from junior Morgan O'Brien with 3:36 to go before halftime.

Stonehill carried a seven point lead (27-20) into the intermission and then opened the second half with another 10-2 run to extend its lead to 15 (37-22) after a Raymond layup 3:14 in. Raymond had six points in all during that stretch and the Skyhawks maintained a double-figure lead until Pace closed the third quarter with a 14-2 run to pull within two (45-43) heading to the fourth. Freshman Lauren Hackett sparked the run with a three-pointer and Schetter added four points.

Pace knotted the score (47-47) on a layup from DelliSanti less than two minutes into the fourth. After Raymond split two free-throw tries for Stonehill, Rivera pushed the Setters in front with a layup and then collected a steal that led to a Wong layup for a three-point lead (51-48) for the hosts with 7:08 to play.

Stonehill recovered and scored the next six points, the first five from Worden, including a three-point play, to take a three-point lead (54-51) with 5:32 remaining. The Skyhawks stretched their lead to five (57-52) with a Raymond layup with 4:14 to go, but Pace got layups from Schetter and DelliSanti to close back within a point (57-56) with 3:41 left.

Carter drained a three to push Stonehill back up by four, but DelliSanti followed with a three-point play with 1:39 remaining. However, Pace would not score again and the Skyhawks did enough at the free-throw line the rest of the way to seal the win.

Stonehill (14-5, 9-4 NE10) returns home on Saturday to host Adelphi University for their Alumnae Game, as part of Alumni Weekend at the College, at Merkert Gym at 1:30 p.m. Pace (8-13, 5-8 NE10) visits nationally-ranked Bentley University on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
