Bar Harbor, Maine, freshman guard is program's seventh All-Rookie selection

NE10 Women's Basketball Postseason Honors Release

EASTON, Mass. (February 24, 2017) – Stonehill College freshman guard Kelsey Shaw (Bar Harbor, Maine/Mount Desert Island) has earned a spot on the Northeast-10 Conference's All-Rookie Team as selected by the NE10's 15 head coaches the league announced today.

Shaw, who was a unanimous choice to the All-Rookie Team by the NE10's head coaches, is the seventh Stonehill student-athlete to earn All-Rookie honors in the 16 years the Conference has sponsored the award. She is the program's first honoree since junior teammate Samantha Hyslip (Westford, Massachusetts/Westford Academy) received the honors, as well as NE10 Rookie of the Year, in 2015.

Shaw has played all 25 games for Stonehill in her freshman season, starting 14, including each of the last 13 games heading into the postseason. She is fourth in the team in scoring with 7.7 points per game, while adding 4.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and a steal per game in 28 minutes per game. Shaw has scored in double figures five times this season, leading the Skyhawks with a season-high 20 points at LIU Post on December 31. She also pulled down a season-best ten rebounds in a win over The College of Saint Rose on January 28.

Stonehill (12-13, 11-10 NE10) is back in action tonight when it hosts Southern Connecticut State University for an NE10 Tournament first round matchup at Merkert Gymnasium at 7 p.m. Admission will be $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for students and senior citizens with college students from participating institutions with valid ID admitted for $1.00. The first 250 Stonehill students will be admitted free of charge courtesy of the College's Office of Student Affairs and the Athletic Department.
