EASTON, Mass. (May 3, 2017) – The Stonehill College men's and women's track and field team will compete in the Northeast-10 Conference Outdoor Championships on Friday, May 4-5, hosted by Southern Connecticut State University at the Jess Dow Field in New Haven, Connecticut.

The women are currently ranked No. 1 in this week's U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II East Regional Computer Rankings, while the men are placed second.

The women were selected by the NE10's 12 coaches to take first place recording 99 points and 9 first-place tallies. Southern Connecticut State University was voted second with 88 points and 1 first-place tallies, as Assumption College rounded out the top three with 83 points. American International College (73 points) and Adelphi University (65 points) placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

The women captured its fifth-straight NE10 Indoor Track and Field title in February and aims to collect its fourth NE10 Outdoor Championship in program history this season after winning in 2014, 2016, and 2017.

The men's squad was voted to finish third in the conference earning 68 points and one first-place tally, while 14-time champion, including returning champion Southern Connecticut State University (78 points) was voted first with six first-place tallies and 2016 champion American International College (72 points) was voted to finish second. Merrimack College fell behind the Skyhawks with 55 points and, as Assumption College rounded out the top five claiming 54 points.

The men stunned the field in 2013 as the squad claimed its first NE10 Indoor Championship title in program history with five runner-up trophies. The Skyhawks have taken the runner-up position in the Outdoor Championships four times and the squad placed third in last years' meet behind champion Southern Connecticut State University and runner-up Franklin Pierce University.

Following the NE10 Championships, Stonehill will compete in the New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships from May 11-12, hosted by Dartmouth College at Memorial Field in Hanover, New Hampshire.
