Massey and Innamorati earn All-Region honors for third time in their careers

EASTON, Mass. (March 2, 2016) – Four members of the Stonehill College men's track and field program have earned All-East Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The awards recognize each region's top five performers in individual events and top three teams in relay events.

Senior Robert Massey (Chelmsford, Massachusetts/Chelmsford) earns the honors for his school-record and NCAA provisional qualifying performance in the 3000-meter run, while junior Joe Santo (Newburyport, Massachusetts/Newburyport) is recognized for his All-New England time in the 5000-meter run, while sophomores Anthony Innamorati (Clinton, Massachusetts/Clinton) and Mark Hamalian (West Bridgewater, Massachusetts/Bridgewater-Raynham) also earn the honors for Stonehill.

Massey, who earns All-Region status for the first time in indoor track & field to go with a pair of honors in cross country, posted a school-record and NCAA Division II Championships provisional qualifying time of 8:17.99 in the 3000-meter run to finish third and earn All-New England honors at the New England Championships in Boston on Saturday. Massey also collected All-East Region honors this past fall in cross country as well as his sophomore year in 2013.

Innamorati also collects All-East Region honors for the third time in his career with his second indoor award. He cleared a school-record matching height of 14-feet, 11-inches in the pole vault at the New England Championships on Saturday for his best vault of the season. Innamorati also boasted All-Region honors for the pole vault following the indoor and outdoor seasons as a freshman in 2014-15.

Santo and Hamalian earn All-East Region honors for the first time in their careers. Santo posted a time of 14:51.92 to earn All-New England honors with a sixth place finish at the New England Championships on Friday night. Hamalian earned 4,251 points in the heptathlon at the Tufts Stampede back on January third to earn All-Region honors for the multi-event.

The Stonehill men will return to action at the end of the month for the start of the outdoor track & field season.
