Medway, Mass., junior All-American places 14^th in men's high jump 

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (March 15, 2014) – Junior All-American Nick Staley (Medway, Mass./BC High) wrapped up Stonehill College's participation at the 2014 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Visit Winston-Salem and Winston-Salem State University, at JDL Fast Track by competing in the men's high jump this evening.

Staley, who earned All-America honors with his fifth place finish at the 2013 Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala., placed 14^th today after clearing 6-feet, 6.75-inches on his first attempt in the first round. national championship, after winning the outdoor title in 2012, by clearing 7-feet, 1-inch, on fewer attempts than Texas A&M Kingsville sophomore Jeron Robinson.

Stonehill finishes the 2014 NCAA Championships in 43^rd place with its two points earned by the All-America performance by the 4000-meter distance medley relay team on Friday night. The Skyhawks finished tied with American International College for second among the three Northeast-10 Conference programs that scored at the Championships. Southern Connecticut State University finished 12^th with 16 points, while Saint Augustine's University won the team title with 84.50 points.

Stonehill's distance medley relay finished seventh out of the 12 entries on Friday night with a time of 9:58.33. Earning All-America honors in the event for the Skyhawks are sophomore Nick Kirkpatrick (Carmel, Ind./Brebeuf Jesuit Prep), freshman Matt Baldasare (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) and juniors Patrick Cooney (Douglaston, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) and Daniel Zawalich (Paxton, Mass./Saint John's of Shrewsbury). Cooney and Zawalich earn All-America honors in the DMR for the second time in their career after they were part of the 2012 relay team that finished sixth (10:04.69) in Mankato, Minn.

Stonehill, ranked second in the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II East Region computer rankings, produced a program-best matching fifth place team finish at the New England Championships third season after placing second at the Northeast-10 Conference Indoor Championships the week before, marking the Skyhawks fourth-straight finish in the top two. Stonehill has a program-record 12 individuals competing at the NCAA Indoor Championships this weekend in six events.
