Outdoor Season

2013: Competed in five meets for the Skyhawks, all events coming in the javelin throw. Placed 8th at Duke Invitational (4/6) with a throw of 169-02.00. Captured 9th at UMass Invitational (4/13) with a throw of 152-07.00. A 168-02.00 mark was good for 3rd at Skyhawk Invitational (4/26). Finished 6th at Northeast-10 Championships (5/4) with a javelin throw of 164-09.00. Placed 16th at New England Championships (5/11) with a throw of 156-09.00.

2012: Competed in four meets for the Skyhawks. Threw for 7th place at the UConn Spring Invitational in the javelin (169-10.58). Took 3rd/20 in the javelin (169-10.58) at the George Davidson Invitational. Placed 10th/25 in the Brown Springtime Invitation javelin throw (170-07.25).

2011: Athletic Director's Honor Roll Spring Semester. NE-10 Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll. Finished 4th overall in the javelin at the NE-10 championships with a throw of 170-05.00. Set a personal best at the Bridgewater State University Invitational with a throw of 52.86 meters. Also competed at the Bryant University Invitational (158-04.00), the UMass Minutemen Invitational (157-06.00, 6th overall) and the Skyhawk Invitational (157-10.00).

High School: 2010 graduate of Warren Hills High School. Lettered two years in track, as well as four years in football and swimming. Named MVP of track team and placed second in section in javelin. Iron Man and Unsung Hero award recipient in football. All-Conference selection and team MVP in swimming. Also competed with the Washington Sharks swim team.

Personal: Born November 2, 1991, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Son of Sharon Patten of Washington, N.J., and David Viotto of Glen Gardner. Two siblings, Anthony (25) and Auston (16). Member of the Army ROTC program at Stonehill and aspires to become an Army Ranger or Apache pilot. Lists favorite team as Green Bay Packers and favorite athlete as Michael Phelps. Majoring in Computer Science and Russian.
