2012-13: All-Northeast-10 (60m hurdles). Was a versatile sprinter/hurdler for the Skyhawks, running in the 60-meter and 200m dashes, as well as the 55m and 60m hurdles. Placed 15th in the 200m dash at UMass Boston Invitational (12/1/12) with a time of 24.07 (a personal best), and finished 13th at Reggie Poyau Invitational (12/7) with a time of 24.47. Placed 9th at Tufts Cupid Challenge (2/2/13) in lone 60m dash of the season, running in 7.44-seconds. In only 55m hurdles event (Reggie Poyau Invitational, 12/7), won the finals in 7.74-seconds, while posting a preliminary time of 7.75 seconds, both just shy of a personal best. Placed 2nd in the preliminaries and finals of the 60m hurdles at UMass Boston Invitational, posting times of 8.56 and 8.43, respectively. Won the event at URI Sorlien Invitational (1/19) with a time of 8.22. Won another 60m hurdles event at Tufts Cupid Challenge, running in 8.36-seconds. Placed 2nd at Northeast-10 Championships (2/16) in the 60m hurdles, good for an All-Conference honor, with a finals time of 8.19 seconds, a personal best.
2011-12: All-New England (60m high Hurdles). All-Northeast-10 (55m high hurdles). USTFCCCA East Region (60 Meter Hurdles). Competed in 19 races for the Skyhawks throughout the duration of the season. Provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships with a 2nd place finish in the 55-meter hurdles at the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) Championships (2/18/12) with a time of 7.72-seconds, a new personal best. Finished 8th overall in the 60-meter hurdles at the New England Championships (2/5/12) with a time of 8.27-seconds. Finished 1st overall in the 55-meter hurdles at the Reggie Poyau Invitational (12/10/11) in 7.90-seconds. Also, ranked 12th overall in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.51-seconds. Ranked 5th overall in the 60-meter hurdles at the Charley Torpey Memorial Invitational (2/4/12) in 8.36-seconds. Finished 4th overall in the 55-meter hurdles at the New Balance Boston Collegiate Indoor Games (1/27/12) with a time of 7.77-seconds. Ranked 11th overall in the 200-meter dash (25.01-seconds) at the University of New Hampshire Tri-Meet (1/21/12).
2010-11: Finished 2nd overall at the NE-10 championships in a personal best time of 7.73 in the 55 meter hurdles. Posted a career best time of 8.46 in the 60 meter hurdles at New England's for an 11th place finish. Also ran the 200 meters at the Reebok Boston Collegiate Indoor Games in a time of 24.49. Ran the 55 meter hurdles four times placing 4th or better at every meet. Finished 2nd in the 55 meter hurdles at the Jay Carisella Invitational in 7.79 seconds. Ran a time of 8.56 in the 60 meter hurdles at the Tufts Stampede for a 3rd place finish overall.
2013: NCAA Qualifier (110-meter hurdles). All-New England (110-meter hurdles). All-Northeast-10 (110m hurdles). Competed in seven meets for the Skyhawks, running the 200-meter dash and the 110m hurdles. Placed19th in the dash with a time of 24.42 at Bridgewater State Bears Invitational (3/23), and finished 20th at Holy Cross Invitational (4/20) with a season-best time of 23.93. Won the 100m hurdles event at UMass Invitational (4/13) with a time of 14.78-seconds. Placed 3rd at Holy Cross Invitational with a time of 14.82. Captured second at Skyhawk Invitational (4/26) in the hurdles with a time of 14.80. Took home 2nd in the preliminaries and finals of the 110m hurdles at Northeast-10 Championships (5/4), running 14.93 and 14.94, respectively, good for an All-Conference honor. Continued success to New England Championships (5/11), finishing third in the hurdles with a personal-best time of 14.42. Placed 27th in the 110m hurdles at the NCAA Division II Championships (5/24) with a time of 14.42, tying his personal best.
2012: Competed in 5 meets for the Skyhawks during the spring season. Placed 3rd/19 in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.43 seconds at the UConn Spring Invitational. Took an impressive 2nd place finish in the 110m hurdles (14.95 seconds) at the George Davidson Invitational. Finished 2nd in the 110m hurdles (14.97 seconds) at the Skyhawk Invitational. Fought for a 2nd place finish at the Brown Springtime Invitational in the 110m hurdles (14.77 seconds).
2011: Ran to a personal best time of 14.68 in the 110 meter high hurdles at New England's for a sixth place finish overall. Finished 2nd at the NE-10 championships in the 110 high hurdles in 15.32. Finished 4th or better in six meets competing in the 110 high hurdles including a 1st place performace at the Bridgewater State University Invitational in a time of 15.22. Placed 13th overall in the 400 hurdles at the UMass Minutemen Invitational with a time of 1:03.87. Competed in the 200 meter dash at the Bridgewater State University Invitational finishing in 23.60 for a 12th place showing.
High School: 2010 graduate of New Bedford High School. Earned All-America status as a member of the second place shuttle hurdles team at the Nike Indoor Nationals for the Whalers. Conference All-Star selection and Southcoast All-Star team selection in football. Also captained the Whalers football team and earned the Standard Times Leadership Award. Captain and All-Conference selection in track and field. Record holder for New Bedford in the 55 meter hurdles. Big-3 All-Star, All-State and All-New England selections. Gold Academic Award and Honor Roll member. MIAA State record holder in the shuttle hurdlers and New England record holder in the shuttle hurdles.
Personal: Born on January 29, 1992 in Oakland, Calif. Son of Dianna Gomes and William Dixon. His father, William, played football at Grambling State. Majoring in environmental science. Lists hobbies at Stonehill as Activist Club, Residential Assistant and the Lloyd Center Environmental Science Club.
