Athletic Director's Honor Roll spring semester. Appeared in 41 games for Stonehill during her sophomore season, making 38 starts. Hit .342 (40-for-117) with four doubles, seven home runs (T-5th in NE-10), and 29 RBI (9th in NE-10). Scored 20 runs, drew ten walks, and slugged .556 with a .395 on-base percentage. Posted a season-best ten-game hitting streak from 4/5-4/14. Recorded eight multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI efforts. Also made 24 appearances and 20 starts in the circle, going 6-11 with a 3.88 earned run average and eight complete games (including two shutouts). Allowed 79 runs (65 earned) on 163 hits in 117.1 innings of work while striking out 49 and walking 19. Recorded her first hit of the season, an RBI single, in Stonehill's 8-2 loss to Urbana (3/11). Went 3-for-4 with one RBI in an 8-2 win against Saint Thomas Aquinas (3/12). Doubled and scored a run in a 5-2 loss to Tiffin (3/14). Belted her first home run of the season, a two-run shot, in Stonehill's 5-4 loss to Molloy (3/15). Walked twice and scored a run in the second game of a doubleheader against Molloy, a 7-6 victory (3/15). Recorded an RBI single in a 6-1 loss at LIU Post (3/22). Went 2-for-7 with two RBI and two runs in a pair of victories at Bentley (4/3). Hit her second home run of the season, another two-run blast, in a 5-0 win over Saint Rose (4/6). Went 3-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in a 10-9 triumph at Assumption (4/9). Singled in each game as Stonehill split a doubleheader with Southern New Hampshire (4/12). Went 2-for-4 and delivered the game-winning two-run single to cap a three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning of Stonehill's 4-3 win over the Penmen (4/13). Later that night, went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in a 6-1 win over Saint Michael's. Recorded two hits and one RBI in a 4-1 win at Saint Michael's (4/14). Went 7-for-15 with three doubles, two home runs, ten RBI, and five runs over the course of four losses at Franklin Pierce (4/17-4/19). Totaled three singles and one run in a 10-9 loss to Merrimack (4/22). Went 1-for-3 in each of Stonehill's last two games of the season, losses to Saint Anselm on 4/25 and 4/27. Did not earn a decision after starting Stonehill's season opener against Dominican in the circle and giving up one run through 5.2 frames (3/8). Earned her first win of 2014 after lasting 6.1 innings and giving up two runs while striking out four against Bridgeport (3/9). Lost five straight decisions to Urbana (3/11), Tiffin (3/14), Molloy (3/15), LIU Post (3/22) and New Haven (3/23). Got back on track, throwing a complete game, four-hit shutout in a 2-0 win over Assumption (4/2). Registered complete game victories in consecutive starts against Le Moyne (4/5) and Saint Rose (4/6), tossing a shutout against the Golden Knights. Posted another complete game, striking out five and giving up just one unearned run, in a 4-1 win at Saint Michael's (4/14). Earned her final win of the season after tossing a scoreless seventh inning in Stonehill's 5-4 win over Saint Anselm (4/25). 

2013:  NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll both semesters.  Athletic Director's Honor Roll both semesters. All-Northeast-10 Conference Rookie Team. Played in 48 games, making 42 starts during her inaugural season with the Skyhawks. Appeared in 33 games for the Skyhawks in the circle, making 28 starts and posting a 15-12 record with a 2.97 ERA and 107 strikeouts in 172.0 innings. Also made 14 starts between first base and the designated player spot and hit .296 (32-for-108) with four doubles, six home runs, 22 RBI, 15 walks, 18 runs, a .387 on-base percentage, and a .500 slugging percentage. Made her collegiate debut, pitching 6.1 innings and giving up four runs (one earned) on five hits, while striking out seven in Stonehill’s opening day loss to Wilmington (Del.) University (3/2/13). Earned her first career win in a complete game effort over Concordia (N.Y.) College (3/5/13). Yielded two runs (one earned) on six hits and one walk in the win against Concordia. Pitched a complete game, yielding one earned run on eight hits and one walk, to collect her second win in as many starts in a 6-1 triumph over Post University (3/6/13). Notched her first career hit, a single, during the win against Post. Went 3-for-3 with two singles, one home run, one RBI, and one run scored during a 6-2 loss to the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (3/8/13). Won nine decisions in a row from March 16 – April 7. Hit .450 (9-for-20) with two doubles, one home run, six RBI, and seven runs scored during a seven game hitting-streak from March 16 – March 27. In a 12-2 win over Bloomfield College (3/16/13) she pitched a complete game (5 IP, 4 hits, 2 runs, 2 ER) and posted two singles, one RBI, and one run scored. Pitched a three-hit shutout and went 2-for-3 with one double, one RBI, and one run in an 11-0 triumph over Pace University (3/23/13). Hit her second career home run during a 2-for-4 showing with three RBI and two runs scored in a 6-5 win over Bentley University (3/27/13). Also pitched a complete game, giving up five runs (three earned) on nine hits and four walks, while striking out three in the win over Bentley. Improved her record to 6-7 during a complete game victory (7 IP, 4 hits, 2 runs, 2 ER) and scored the game winning-run for the Skyhawks in a win over LIU Post (3/28/13). Belted two home runs, drove in five RBI, and held Saint Michael’s to one run on three hits during a five-inning shutout to claim her seventh victory of the season (3/30/13). Recorded one double, one RBI, one run, and earned the victory in the circle (7 IP, 8 hits, 3 runs, 3 earned) during a 5-3 triumph over UMass Lowell (4/2/13). Won her eighth-straight decision in a nine-inning, complete game victory (7 hits, 1 run, 1 ER) over Assumption College (4/6/13). Homered, singled, scored one run, drove in one RBI, and collected her ninth-straight win in a 7-6 victory over American International College (4/7/13). Pitched a five-inning complete game, claimed three RBI, and hit her sixth home run of the season in a 9-1 win over Franklin Pierce (4/21/13). Pitched a complete game shutout, giving up just five hits and one walk ,while striking out two in Stonehill’s NE-10 Tournament victory over Saint Anselm College (4/30/13). Held New Haven to two runs (one earned) on seven hits, earning three strikeouts during Stonehill’s NE-10 Tournament loss (5/2/13). Ranks first all-time among Stonehill pitchers for wins in a single season (15). Also ranks second in single season innings pitched (172.0) and strikeouts (107) and third in complete games (17). Ruonavaara Named to All-Conference Rookie Team.

High School: All-State varsity softball and volleyball player at Rocky Hill High School in Rocky Hill, Conn. All-Conference softball honoree all four years of high school. Named to All-State teams during sophomore and senior years. Invited to select All-Star games junior and senior seasons. Named Hartford Courant and New Haven Register Player of the Year during senior campaign.

Personal: Born October 14, 1993 in Traverse City, Michigan. Daughter of Todd and Kathy Ruonavaara of Rocky Hill, Conn. Has an older brother, Ryan (23). Earned Saint Thomas Aquinas Medal for having the highest cumulative grade point average on the team for the last two years. Chose Stonehill for its beautiful campus, location, and academics. Member of Stonehill's LifeSkills Committee. Softball team's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative. Lists the New Britain Rock Cats as her favorite team, and Sierra Romero as her favorite athlete.
