Four from Men's Tennis Earn NE10 Postseason Honors

EASTON, Mass. (May 1, 2019) – Four members of the Stonehill College men's tennis program have earned postseason recognition from the Northeast-10 Conference, as selected by the league's ten head coaches.

Stonehill's doubles tandem of junior Samuel Miller and sophomore Trent Newman earned All-NE10 honors at No. 1 singles for Stonehill, while junior Aaron Diamond collects third team honors at No. 6 singles. Freshman Juan Camilo Riano Rojas rounds out the Skyhawks honorees by being selected to the NE10's All-Rookie Team. It marks the third-straight year a Stonehill freshman has earned All-Rookie honors as Riano Rojas joins teammates Manu Ravichandrakumar, Russell White and Newman in receiving the accolades.

Newman and Miller both earn All-NE10 honors for the first time in their careers, having teamed up to post an 8-7 record for Stonehill this season, including 5-4 in the NE10, at the top doubles spot. Miller is 14-10 overall this season in doubles play, having been paired with four different playing partners in his first season with the Skyhawks after transferring from Division I Saint Francis (Pa.) University. He has also posted an 11-11 singles mark, while competing at No. 1, 2 and 3 singles over the course of the year, earning a pair of NE10 Player of the Week accolades. Newman is a combined 9-8 in doubles play with two different playing partners, to go with a 7-9 singles mark.

Newman is now 24-14 in doubles play over his first two collegiate seasons, including 9-7 in the NE10, competing exclusively at the top doubles spot for Stonehill. He is a combined 37-32 in singles and doubles play over his career, including 16-15 in the NE10.

Diamond also earns All-NE10 honors for the first time in his career. He posted a 15-8 record overall in singles play this season, including 5-3 in the NE10, going 10-4 at the No. 6 singles spot. Diamond has now posted a 29-22 singles record over his career at Stonehill, and has earned NE10 Academic Honor Roll honors multiple semesters.

Riano Rojas, a two-time NE10 Rookie of the Week honoree, earns All-Rookie Team status after posting a combined 23-16 record in singles and doubles play, including 9-5 in the NE10, finishing 12-10 in singles play, including 6-3 in the NE10, while posting an 11-6 doubles mark with four different playing partners, including 3-2 in the NE10. He competed at the No. 3, 4 and 5 singles spots over the course of his first collegiate season, finishing 5-3 at No. 4 and 7-5 at No. 5. Riano Rojas was also named NE10 Academic Honor Roll Academic Honors level and Athletic Director's Honor Roll during the Fall 2018 semester.

Stonehill finished its 2018-19 season with a 12-10 record overall, including 4-5 in the NE10 to earn a spot in the NE10 Tournament for a Conference record matching 19th time.
