Miller and White lead three double-winners for Skyhawks

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (October 4, 2018) – Stonehill College rolled to a 9-0 victory over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in a non-conference men's tennis match at UMD Tennis Courts today.

Junior Samuel Miller, sophomore Russell White and freshman Luke Mendoza were all double-winners to lead Stonehill to its third dual match win in as many outings this fall. Miller and White combined to drop just one game apiece over their two matches on the afternoon, opening by teaming up for an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles. Miller followed that up with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles against UMass Dartmouth sophomore Eli Brooks, while White defeated sophomore Tristin Viale 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2.

Mendoza linked up with sophomore Joey Conrod for an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles for Stonehill. Mendoza later added a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles against freshman Tyler Duncan. Junior Aaron Diamond and freshmen Vincent Huynh and Juan Camilo Riano Rojas all added singles wins for the Skyhawks today. Sophomores Aleksander Lazowski and Jonathan Gordon teamed up for an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.

Stonehill (3-0, 0-0 NE10) closes out its fall schedule this weekend, when it competes at the Connecticut College Invitational in New London, Connecticut, on Saturday. UMass Dartmouth (0-2, 0-0 LEC) is off until the spring semester.
