Top of lineup lifts Penmen to key NE-10 win 

EASTON, Mass. (April 1, 2014) – Southern New Hampshire University, ranked seventh in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Regional rankings, was led by the top of its lineup in posting a 5-4 decision over Stonehill College, ranked ninth in the region, in a key Northeast-10 Conference men's tennis matchup at Charles Watt Tennis Courts this evening.

Seniors Mitch Dobek (Westfield, Mass./Saint Mary) and Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia Quindo, Columbia) as well as junior Mike Wallace (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Salesian) led Southern New Hampshire to victory at the top of the lineup as double-winners. Dobek and Wallace, the seventh-ranked doubles team in the region by the ITA, cruised to an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles. Dobek, ranked ninth in the region for singles, added a 6-4, 6-1 win over senior Nick Hyzak (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) at No. 1. Wallace claimed a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles over sophomore Philip Klados (Lake Forest, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic).

Arango-Campo and senior Alex Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn./Rocky Hill) teamed up for a key 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles that sealed a 2-1 SNHU edge after doubles play. Arango-Campo, ranked 13th in the region, followed that up with a 6-4, 6-4 win against junior Eric Ringstad (Fairbanks, Alaska/Monroe Catholic) at No. 2 singles.

Junior Jared Drzal (West Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) paced Stonehill with wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles. He and Hyzak swept their way to an 8-0 doubles win, before Drzal rallied for a 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 win against sophomore Mark Dobek (Westfield, Mass./Saint Mary). Senior Brett Armstrong (Manville, R.I./Mount Saint Charles Academy) added a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles over junior Evan Eaton (Winchester, Mass./New Hampton School), while junior Tom Alaimo (North Andover, Mass./Central Catholic) gutted out a 5-7, 6-3, 17-15 victory over Mukdaprakorn at No. 4 singles.

Stonehill (9-5, 5-2 NE-10) is right back in tomorrow when it hosts Gustavus Adolphus College for a non-conference matchup for Senior Day at Charles Watt Courts at 4:30 p.m. Southern New Hampshire (13-3, 5-1 NE-10) hosts Saint Michael's College tomorrow at 4 p.m.
