EASTON, Massachusetts (October 26, 2018) – The Stonehill College men's soccer team played to its second draw of the season with a 1-1 score against Franklin Pierce University (7-9-1, 6-6-1 NE10) on Friday afternoon at Skyhawk Field on senior day in Northeast-10 Conference play.

For the Skyhawks, (6-8-2, 5-7-1 NE10) Patrick Doherty tallied his second goal of the season, as Keegan Nuttchipped in his first assist of the season, while junior goalkeeper Billy Troast recorded nine saves in the loss.

Neither team connected on anything in the first couple of minutes, as both teams played around getting the feel for the momentum of the game. Franklin Pierce tallied the first corner kick of the game in the fourth minute and Jacob Maddox booted the ball past the right front post from the left side of the field. The Ravens registered the second corner kick of the game but the Skyhawks were able to clear the ball out of the box.

Noam Kolakosky helped Franklin Pierce with the first two shots on goal, as Troast was able to keep the ball from going in, however 13 seconds later, Maddox collected the ball off the right front post and dished it off to Yannik Felber for his sixth goal of the season at 9:36. After the restart, Stonehill was able to bring the ball to their attacking third multiple times and saw three shots on goal before Nutt nudged the ball to Doherty at 20:51 for the equalizer right in front of the net, 1-1. At the end of the first half, Stonehill held a one shot edge, 8-7, over the Ravens.

Nutt registered his first assist of the season and fourth helper of his career

Both teams came out with fire in the second half, as they both looked to get the game-winning goal, and Franklin Pierce ended up with the shot advantage, 10-9. They both also had opportunities where the keepers held down the fort and kept each other from scoring.

As Stonehill entered their second game in double overtime, the extra time began to get much more physical where Stonehill totaled 16 fouls to the Ravens 13 overtime. Stonehill also was able to hold the slight shot advantage, 21-18, but could not capitalize on the seven shots on goal that they had throughout the game.

The Skyhawks just missed a chance at returning to playoffs, while the Ravens secure the sixth seed in the NE10 Tournament and will face the No. 3 seed in Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday, October 30 at Manchester, New Hampshire with a start time of 7:00 p.m. in the NE10 Quarterfinal matchup.
