SYRACUSE, N.Y. (November 2, 2013) – The Stonehill College men's soccer team wrapped up its 2013 campaign today with a 3-0 defeat at Le Moyne College in Northeast-10 action at Ted Grant Field.

Le Moyne, which came into today's contest in fifth place in the NE-10 standings, opened up the scoring just over 25 minutes into the match. Junior back Cal Filtch (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) found the top left corner of the net with his shot from eight yards away to stake the Dolphins to a 1-0 advantage.

Le Moyne struck again at the 34:47 mark, when senior midfielder Zachary MacNabb (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) found senior forward Michael Spadine (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego Free Academy), for Spadine's fifth tally of the season.

The Dolphins would add one more score before halftime, as junior back Keleenna Onyeaka (Birmingham, England/Solihull Sixth Form College) headed home a free kick attempt by sophomore midfielder Mark Gentile (Walworth, N.Y./Wayne) to give the home team a 3-0 lead just 21 seconds before the half.

Le Moyne's 3-0 lead heading into the break would be too much for Stonehill to overcome, as Dolphins keeper Matthew Silva (Brampton, Ontario/St. Augustine) posted his ninth shutout of the season, making three saves in the process. Stonehill junior goalkeeper Adam Colella (Wilmington, Mass./St. John's Prep) stopped two shots before giving way to junior Ryan Rincon (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) in the 79th minute.

Today's match served as the final collegiate contest for three Stonehill seniors- midfielder Kevin Beckley (Congers, N.Y./Don Bosco Prep), midfielder Kevin Gilmartin (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock), and forward Timothy Canniff (Billerica, Mass./Billerica).

Stonehill (5-10-1, 4-8-1 NE-10), which will not qualify for the Northeast-10 Championship, which begins next week, finishes the season at 11th place in the conference standings with 13 points. Le Moyne (11-6, 8-5 NE-10) will be the fifth seed in the NE-10 Championship, with 24 points.
