MANCHESTER, N.H. (September 19, 2012) – Southern New Hampshire University, ranked no. 24 nationally in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll, handed the Stonehill College men's soccer team a 3-0 loss on Wednesday night in Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) action at Larkin Field.

Sophomore midfielder Miguel Carneiro (New Milford, Conn./South Kent School) led the Penmen offensively with one goal and one assist. Carneiro set up Southern New Hampshire's opening tally as his corner kick was headed home by sophomore forward Kenny Doublette (Greenwich, Conn./Univ. of Rio Grande) in the 13th minute, his first of the season. Carneiro also added his first marker of the season at 49:24 after he collected a deflection off of a Skyhawks defender and sent it home.

Senior forward Chris Tsonis (Dartmouth, Mass./Dartmouth) closed out the first half (40:39) with his team-leading fifth goal of the season on a short pass from Sebastian Stezewski (New Britain, Conn./New Britain) inside the box, just about five yards away from goal.

Penmen junior goalkeeper Dom DiMaggio (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) earned the shutout with one save. Sophomore goalkeeper Adam Colella (Wilmington, Mass./St. John's Prep) turned away seven shots in 78 minutes and 23 seconds of play while classmate Ryan Rincon (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) stopped both shots he faced in 11 minutes and 37 seconds of action.

Southern New Hampshire outshot Stonehill, 21-2, and won the corners matchup, 3-0.

The Skyhawks (1-5-1, 0-4-0 NE-10) host no. 19 ranked Franklin Pierce University on Saturday, September at 11 a.m. on Skyhawk Field. Southern New Hampshire (5-1-0, 2-1-0 NE-10) travels to Le Moyne College on Saturday for a 1 p.m. start.
