MANCHESTER, N.H. (November 1, 2011) – First-seeded Franklin Pierce University, ranked no.2 overall in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Poll, handed eight-seeded Stonehill College a 4-0 loss in Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) Quarterfinal round action on Tuesday night at Larkin Field.

The Ravens (17-0-1, 12-0-1 NE-10), the defending NE-10 Tournament champions, advance to the semifinal round against fourth-seeded Le Moyne College (11-7-1, 9-4-0 NE-10) on Friday, November 5 at 4 p.m. at Sodexo Field in Rindge, N.H. on the campus of Franklin Pierce University. The Skyhawks, who reached the NE-10 Tournament for the 14th time in program history, wrap up their season at 10-9-0 overall and 7-6-0 in NE-10 play.

Stonehill tied the program record for conference wins this fall which was set in 1990 (7-1-1) and clinched its first winning season since 1997 (9-8-1).

Graduate back Daniel Donaldson (Moenchengladbach, Germany/Manenschule/Univ. of Wuerburg) put Franklin Pierce ahead 1-0 at 14:52 heading home a corner kick from teammate Paul Latif (Newcastle, England/Heaton Manor/Dean College) past Skyhawks goalkeeper Adam Colella (Wilmington, Mass./St. John's Prep.) for his fourth marker of the season.

Franklin Pierce used three unanswered goals in the second half spanning just 12 minutes and 48 seconds apart to put the contest away.

Senior midfielder Diego Tabares (Seekonk, Mass./Seekonk/UMass Lowell) jumpstarted the offensive outburst at 67:06 sniping a shot into the lower left corner of the net after receiving a through pass from freshman midfielder Tom Wampler (Attleboro, Mass./Attleboro).

Wampler pushed the score to 3-0 at 75:30 cleaning up a rebound off of a Tabares shot that was deflected for his second goal of the season.

Donaldson added his second marker of the contest at 79:54, capping a three-goal second half, flicking a pass from Gareth Dudney (North Andover, Mass./North Andover) into the lower right corner of the goal to make it 4-0.

Ravens goalkeeper Vinny Papageorgiou (Wilmington, Mass./Wilmington HS) preserved the shutout making two saves to record his ninth clean sheet of the season. Colella turned away four shots for the Skyhawks.

Franklin Pierce outshot Stonehill, 16-5, and won the corners matchup, 6-2.
