Easton, Mass. - Seventh ranked Southern New Hampshire took advantage of some early Stonehill errors, scoring once in the first and once in the second half to beat the Skyhawks 2-0.

The Penman came out firing in the first half and were rewarded in the 10th minute when Gabe Mercier ripped a shot from the right side of the 18 to give Southern New Hampshire a one goal lead.

The rest of the half went scoreless, though both team had opportunities late in the half.

The Skyhawks came out aggressive in the second half keeping the ball on the Penman side of the field for much of the first 15 minutes.

Stonehill, however, was unable to score and Southern New Hampshire took advantage. In the 54th minute Jamie Phillips sent a cross past the outstretched arms of keeper Brandon McFarlane (Norwich, Conn.) to Adrien Schippers who tapped the ball in for the 2-0 lead.

McFarlane had five saves in net for the Skyhawks, who managed just seven shots in the game.

The loss drops Stonehill to 2-3-1 on the season.  They next take to action when they travel to take on Franklin Pierce on Saturday at 7:00 pm.
