EASTON, Mass.-- Graduate student David Clifton (London, England) and sophomore Raphael Guimaraes (Marlboro, Mass.) each netted a pair of goals to lift third-ranked Franklin Pierce to a 5-0 Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer victory over Stonehill Saturday afternoon at Skyhawk Field.

Clifton's unassisted tally in the 33rd minute staked the visiting Ravens (10-0-1, 6-0-1 Northeast-10) to a 1-0 lead at the break, and he and Guimaraes both found the back of the net in the first 4:34 of play after intermission to give Franklin Pierce a 3-0 edge. Guimaraes added his second of the day in the 56th minute, while freshman Abilio Goncalves (Ashland, Mass.) closed out the scoring with his first collegiate marker that came with 6:37 to play.

Junior Mike Lima (Ludlow, Mass.) and sophomore Frantz Francois (West Palm Beach, Fla.) each added assists on the day for the Ravens, as junior James Thorpe (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and freshman Alec Cambio (Scituate, R.I.) made three saves to combine on the shutout for the visitors. Sophomore Danny Kerl (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) made a career-high 14 saves in goal for the host Skyhawks (5-7, 2-6 Northeast-10) as Franklin Pierce outshot Stonehill by a 24-3 margin for the match.
