EASTON, Mass.-- Senior Collin Day's (Easthampton, Mass.) goal with 5:06 remaining in the second overtime lifted Bentley to a 2-1 Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer victory over Stonehill Saturday afternoon at Skyhawk Field.

Day lofted a shot from the left side of the cage off a scramble to give the visiting Falcons (3-2-1, 1-1-1 Northeast-10) their triumph and first league win of the season. Bentley had taken an early 1-0 edge just 9:02 into the match when freshman Jared Joaquin (North Andover, Mass.) netted his first collegiate marker on a rush through the middle, but the host Skyhawks (3-2, 2-2 Northeast-10) evened matters in the 21st minute when junior Joey Silva (Brockton, Mass.) tallied his second goal of the year on a header off an indirect kick from fellow junior Daniel Gomes (Brockton, Mass.), setting up Day's heroics in the second extra session.

Both teams had chances to win in the first overtime period and in the early stages of the second extra session, as while Bentley held a 28-7 advantage in shots for the match, each team had three in the overtime periods prior to Day's game-winner. Junior Derek DuBois (Walpole, Mass.) picked up the win in net for the Falcons by making one save, while freshman Brian Guerrini (Glastonbury, Conn.) made 12 stops in goal for Stonehill in his second collegiate start.

Stonehill hosts Southern New Hampshire in a Northeast-10 outing on Wednesday afternoon at Skyhawk Field beginning at 4:00 p.m., while Bentley hosts Post in a non-league contest on Tuesday afternoon in Waltham, Mass. that begins at 3:30 p.m.
