After Assumption drew a five-minute power play at 5:36 in the second frame, Stonehill was able to fend off the Greyhounds' eight shots. Assumption had another two opportunities to get the puck in the back of the cage with back-to-back penalties from Stonehill, but once again the Skyhawks defense stood tall against nine shots, including five-straight shots in the 15-minute mark. The shot advantage was reversed in the second period, as the Greyhounds totaled 18 shots to the Skyhawks eight.

Both teams were shorthanded on and off during the start of the third period, as neither team was able to put a tally on the board. Hall was able to extend the Skyhawks' lead to three, 3-0, at 8:26 in the third with assists from Smith and Frament for his third goal of the season.
