FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (January 19, 2016) – The Stonehill College men's ice hockey team closed out its four-game road stand with a 6-3 victory over Framingham State University on Tuesday night in Non-Conference action at Loring Arena.

Junior Brian Higgins (Milton, Massachusetts/Proctor Academy) and senior Robbie Dorgan (Ossining, New York/Boston Bulldogs - AJHL) each posted three points, Higgins with two goals and an assist, and Dorgan with a goal and two assists to lead the Skyhawks to the bounce back win. Freshman William Palmer (Cranston, Rhode Island/Boston Bandits - EHL) preserved the win with 25 saves, including 14 in the second period as Stonehill jumped out to a five goal lead mid-way into the second stanza. Freshman Scott Nicolich (Glen Cove, New York/Bradford Rattlers) registered 22 stops in goal for Framingham State, including 17 in the first period as the Skyhawks registered a 19-7 edge in shots on goal for the frame. Classmate Adam Calabrese (Philadelphia, Pennsylvnia/NH Jr. Monarchs) took over in goal for the Rams early in the second period, turning away 22 shots over the remaining 32:20 of the game.

Sophomore Keith Barnaby (Leominster, Massachusetts/Maine Wild) and juniors Mark Essery (Rockfall, Connecticut/Hartford Jr. Wolfpack) and Chris Andre (New Bedford, Massachusetts/UMass. Dartmouth) scored the three Framingham State goals on the night.

Stonehill jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead when Higgins pounced on a rebound just 70 seconds into the game and sent the puck past Nicolich to add on to his team leading goal tally. DePoalo doubled the lead five minutes later to extend his point's streak to three games.

The Skyhawks piled it on in the second period, scoring three goals in the span of four minutes. White, the reigning NE-10 Rookie of the Year, opened the scoring at the 13:49 mark on an assist by DePoalo. Higgins followed that up with his second goal of the night and seventh on the year to push the lead to 4-0. Jenkins capped the scoring for the Skyhawks in the second, potting his third goal of the season on an assist by senior Kevin Airoldi (Kennebunk, Maine/Boston Jr. Rangers - AJHL).
