Skyhawks allow season-high seven goals to Bantams

HARTFORD, Conn. (November 28, 2015) – The Trinity College ice hockey team utilized six different goal scorers and three multi-goal periods to defeat visiting Stonehill College this afternoon, 7-1, in non-conference action at Williams Rink in the Koeppel Community Sports Center.

Trinity was led by junior forward Ryan Cole (Anchorage, Alaska/Kimball Union Academy), who posted a three point effort with two goals and one assist. Entering tonight's action, Cole ranked first on the Bantams with five points.

After falling behind 6-0 early in the third period, Stonehill capitalized on a power play when sophomore defender Brendan White (North Reading, Massachusetts/Kimball Union Academy) finally got the Skyhawks on the board with the help of senior defender Travis Army (Englewood, Colorado/Worcester Academy).

Trinity was able to build a 5-0 advantage heading into the third with first period goals from Cole, junior Ethan Holdaway (Glastonbury, Connecticut/Westminster) and sophomore forward Anthony Sabitsky (Sicklerville, New Jersey/Milton Academy), and second period goals from Cole and senior Elie Vered (Ottawa, Ontario/Kimball Union Academy).

Sophomore goaltender Alex Morin (St. Hubert, Quebec/Northwood) earned the win in net for the Bantams, as he stopped 24 of the 25 shots that he saw. Stonehill senior netminder Patrick Farrington (Sandwich, Massachusetts/Bridgton Academy) made 27 saves on 34 shots.

Stonehill (3-3-2, 2-0-1 Northeast-10) will be right back in action tomorrow with a contest at Wesleyan University at 6 p.m. The Skyhawks return home to the Foxboro Sports Center on Tuesday, December 1st against the Wentworth Institute of Technology. Trinity (3-0-0, 2-0-0 NESCAC) returns to the ice tomorrow as well, when the Bantams host Salve Regina University at 3 p.m.
