Rooney earns Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.

EASTON, Mass. (January 29, 2013) – Stonehill College assistant captain Bryan Rooney (Canton, Mass.) was named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Rooney exploded for eight points in two games last week for the Skyhawks. Wednesday evening against Assumption, Rooney collected five points in Stonehill's 6-2 victory. Rooney netted the first two goals of the game and also dished out three assists for the Skyhawks. During a Saturday night loss to Southern New Hampshire, Rooney posted three more points on two goals and an assist.

This is the second time this season that Rooney has be named Player of the Week. On the year, Rooney has 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 points. The forward leads all NE-10 players in conference scoring with 14 points (8 goals, 6 assists) in seven games. Rooney is riding a three-game scoring streak, recording four goals and six assists for ten points during that span.

The Skyhawks will travel to face UMass-Dartmouth in a non-conference affair tonight at 7:30 p.m. Stonehill returns home to the Foxboro Sports Center on Saturday February 2, when they host NE-10 foe Franklin Pierce at 4:10 p.m.
