FOXBORO, Mass. (November 6, 2012) – The Stonehill College men's ice hockey team dropped a 6-1 non-conference decision to Nichols College on Tuesday night at the Foxboro Sports Center.

Senior forward Danny Greiner (Columbus, Ohio) and freshman forward Tyler Beasley (Indianapolis, Ind.) both potted a pair of goals and junior netminder Dylan Woodring (Rogue River, Oregon) made 34 saves to push the Bison to 2-0 overall on the season.

Freshman forward Daniel Bufis (Linden, N.J.), sophomore forward Brett Jackson (Larchmont, N.Y.) and senior forward Zach Kohn (Delafield, Wisconsin) all tallied two assists apiece in the contest.

Stonehill freshman forward Richard Harris (Grand Island, N.Y.) recorded his third goal of the season, on the power play, at the seven minute mark of the third period. Senior forward Christopher Gorovitz (Framingham, Mass./Tilton School) and freshman forward Robbie Dorgan (Ossining, N.Y.) were credited with assists on Harris' rebound goal.

Gorovitz's helper in the third period marks his 50th career point in a Stonehill uniform as the senior forward has scored 27 goals and dished out 23 assists in 66 games played.

Sophomore goalkeeper Chris Tasiopoulos (Norwell, Mass./Thayer Academy) made 14 saves in net for the Skyhawks while backup freshman netminder Matthew Palella (Chicago, Ill.) turned away a team-high 18 shots and sophomore Will Husic (Glastonbury, Conn./Bridgton Academy) had one save.

Greiner wasted little time putting Nichols ahead 1-0 in the first period slipping in his first goal of the season past Tasiopoulos one minute and 13-seconds into action. Junior forward Greg Strootman (Aston, Pa.) deposited his team-leading fourth goal of the season at 6:50 with a low wrist shot into the lower right corner of the net on a feed from Kuhn who was stationed in the right faceoff circle.

Sophomore forward Joe Sposit (Cleveland, Ohio) made it 3-0 at 14:38 sniping a wrist shot over Tasiopoulos' glove into the upper left corner of the net. Beasley capped the four-goal effort in the first period blasting a one-timer from the slot on feeds from Bufis and sophomore defenseman Kyle Shaprio (Amber, Pa.)
