MANCHESTER, N.H. (November 20, 2019) – Southern New Hampshire University jumped out to an early double-digit lead and didn't look back in posting a 77-61 victory over Stonehill College in a Northeast-10 Conference men's basketball matchup between teams receiving votes in this week's D2SIDA East Region poll at SNHU Fieldhouse tonight.

Senior Eamonn Joyce and junior Michael Almonacy combined for 54 points to keep Southern New Hampshire perfect on the year, as the Penmen finished shooting 49.2-percent (30-61) from the field, including 56.3% (18-32) in the first half, draining 9-of-22 three-pointers (40.9%). Joyce netted a game-high 30 points, including 21 in the second half, on 11-of-18 shooting, including 3-for-6 from three, to go with a team-high 11 rebounds, three blocked shots and two steals. Almonacy scored 15 of his 24 points in the first half, shooting 9-for-15 from the field, including 4-for-9 from long range, with five rebounds and three assists. Junior Corry Long contributed ten first half points, six rebounds, two assists and three steals for the Penmen.

Southern New Hampshire scored the first ten points of the game on its way to an 18-2 lead five minutes into the game and never looked back. Joyce scored the first five points of the game and Almonacy capped the opening run with four points as the Penmen got five points from Long as well during that stretch. Stonehill closed within ten twice in the half, but SNHU carried a 15-point lead (45-30) into halftime.

Sims scored Stonehill's first eight points of the second half to pull the Skyhawks back within 11 (47-36) two minutes in. Neither team scored for the next two minutes and then the teams traded baskets for two more, keeping Stonehill within 11 (51-40) after two Moreton free-throws with 14:40 remaining. SNHU wouldn't led the Skyhawks any closer and opened a 19-point gap (59-40) with six points from Joyce on a three-pointer and three-point play, before Almonacy scored on a fast-break with 13:39 left.

SNHU stretched its advantage to 22 (70-48) with a Joyce basket with 7:53 on the clock, before Stonehill pushed back to within 14 (70-56) after a layup from junior Monty Urmilevicius with three-minutes to go. Joyce ended the late threat with a three and the Penmen closed the game out from there.
