Eisendorf nets 22 to lead six hot-shooting Dolphins in double-figures
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (February 25, 2018) – Southwest Division top-seeded Le Moyne College, ranked No. 19 in the D2SIDA Top 25 Media Poll and No. 22 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II poll, shot over 77-percent in the second half to pull away and claim a 99-60 triumph over Northeast No. 4-seed Stonehill College in quarterfinal round action of the 2018 Northeast-10 Conference men's basketball tournament at Ted Grant Court this evening.
Le Moyne (22-6, 18-2 NE10) advances to the NE10 semifinal round on Wednesday, where it will host Northeast No. 2 Merrimack College (19-10, 14-7 NE10) at 7 p.m. The Warriors advanced with a 75-59 victory over Southwest No. 3 University of New Haven in an earlier quarterfinal today. Stonehill sees its season end with a 17-12 record overall, including 12-9 in the NE10 to make its 31st appearance in the NE10 Tournament after a one-year absence.
Senior Isaiah Eisendorf (Silver Spring, Maryland/Springbrook) led six Le Moyne players in double-figures with a game-high 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the floor, draining both three-point attempts and both free-throws. He spearheaded a Dolphins offense which missed just 15 shots, 13 from beyond the three-point arc, to finish shooting 73.2-percent from the floor overall, including 77.4% (24-31) in the second half to break open a five-point game (40-35) at the half with 59 points over the final 20-minutes.
Senior Russell Sangster (Rockville, Maryland/Bullis School) and sophomore Tom Brown (Ellicott City, Maryland/Centennial) each added 14 points for Le Moyne, with Brown a perfect 6-for-6 shooting, including a pair of three-pointers, with five assists, while Sangster made 7-of-8 shots and added three rebounds and three assists. Seniors Tyquan Rolon (Syracuse, New York/Nottingham), Robert Jones III (Mansfield, Ohio/Mansfield) and Tanner Hyland (South Portland, Maine/South Portland) all contributed ten points for the Dolphins. Jones III grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and dished three assists, while Rolon totaled five assists and two steals.

Sophomore Dan Largey (Oceanport, New Jersey/Peddie School) led four Stonehill players in double figures with 17 points, including 14 in the second half, on 6-of-10 shooting, connecting on 4-of-7 from three-point distance, while senior Joel Berroa (Lawrence, Massachusetts/Bridgton Academy) totaled 12 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Sophomore Will Moreton (Minneapolis, Minnesota/Edina) scored 12 of his 15 points in the first half on 6-of-13 shooting, with three rebounds, with classmate Brandon Twitty (Randolph, Massachusetts/Catholic Memorial) netting 11 of his 14 points over the opening 20 minutes.
Stonehill was limited to 37.5-percent shooting (21-for-56), including 28.6% (8-28) in the second half. The Skyhawks finished the opening half with a 14-4 run to close within three (38-35) after a Berroa layup, before Rolon sent Le Moyne into the half with a five point advantage (40-35) following a layup with 28-seconds left. Twitty buried two three-pointers during that stretch, while Largey added a triple and Moreton converted a conventional three-point play.
Back-to-back three-pointers from Largey, around a Sangster layup, pulled Stonehill within a point (42-41) a minute into the second half, but Le Moyne reeled off a 24-4 run over the next nine minutes to break the game open (70-45) after a Brown triple with 10:36 to play. Eisendorf scored ten points during an initial 17-1 run during that stretch that pushed the Dolphins lead to 21 points (63-42) with 12:30 left. The Skyhawks wouldn't get any closer than 22 the rest of the way after Twitty broke up the run with a three-pointer midway through the half.
Stonehill held a series of seven point leads over the opening six minutes of the game, scoring nine of the game's first 11 points, led by five points from Twitty in the first three minutes. The Skyhawks lead was seven (17-10) following a three-pointer by Berroa with 14:02 left in the first half, when Le Moyne fired off a 24-4 run to take the lead for good and grab its first double-digit advantage (34-21) after a Jones III layup with 5:40 remaining. Eisendorf and Jones III each netted six points during that stretch.
