EASTON, Mass. (December 20, 2016) – Stonehill College freshman forward Daniel Largey (Oceanport, New Jersey/Peddie School) has earned Spalding/Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season by the league office this afternoon.

Largey, who also collected the honors following the opening weekend of the season on November 14, led Stonehill to an 83-71 victory over The College of Saint Rose, ranked fifth in the D2SIDA East Region and receiving votes in the NABC Division II poll at the time, last Monday in the Skyhawks lone game of the week. He matched a program record with nine three-point field goals on his way to a game-high 29 points, scoring 18 in the first half alone as he made all six three-pointers attempted in the half, connecting on his first seven threes of the night before finishing shooting 9-for-11 from the field overall (all from beyond the arc). Largey, who matched the school's single-game record of nine three-pointers set by Shaun Fein in 1997-98, also contributed four rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot as the Skyhawks finished the semester with a fourth straight win.

Largey has appeared in all 11 games for Stonehill in his freshman season, averaging 10.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and an assist in 18.9 minutes per game off the bench. He is shooting an NE10 best 57.1-percent from three-point range, good for second nationally in Division II, averaging 2.6 three-point field goals per game (10th NE10), shooting 53.4-percent from the field overall (15th). Largey scored a season-high 31 points, aided by 8-of-10 shooting from three, with a season-best eight rebounds, three assists and three steals in the Skyhawks' 98-68 win over Queens (N.Y.) College on November 12, reaching double-figures in scoring four times with two 20-plus point games in his first collegiate season.

Stonehill (7-4, 4-3 NE10), ranked ninth in the D2SIDA East Region poll for the second straight week, is off for the holiday break until next week when it visits Georgian Court University for a non-conference matchup on Thursday, December 29, at 1 p.m. The Skyhawks return home for a New Year's Eve matchup with the University of Bridgeport, ranked sixth in the region, at Merkert Gymnasium on Saturday, December 31, at 1 p.m.
