Logan Named Spalding NE-10 Player of the Week

EASTON, Mass. (November 17, 2015) – Stonehill College junior forward Ryan Logan (Fredericktown, Ohio/Fredericktown) has been named the Spalding Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for men's basketball the league office has announced.

Logan, who earns Spalding NE-10 Player of the Week honors for the second time in his career, led Stonehill to a 2-0 start to its season at its home Tip-Off Classic this weekend. He averaged 29 points, nine rebounds, 2.5 assists, a blocked shot and steal over the two wins, shooting 57.5-percent from the field (23-for-40), including 3-for-6 (50%) from three-point range, while converting 9-of-11 (81.8%) free-throw attempts.

Logan opened the season with his eighth career double-double with 30 points and 12 rebounds, three rebounds and a steal in Friday night's 81-67 win over Post University, shooting 12-of-22 from the floor and converting 5-of-6 free-throws. He followed that up with 28 points on 11-of-18 shooting, including 2-for-3 from beyond the arc, while making 4-of-5 free-throws with six rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots and a steal in Saturday's 90-82 win over Georgian Court University.

Logan, an All-Northeast-10 third team selection as a sophomore, leads the NE-10 and ranks sixth nationally in Division II for scoring following the opening weekend of the season, while ranking third in the Conference for rebounds, fourth in minutes per game (35.5) and eighth in blocked shots per game. He has scored in double-figures in seven straight games dating back to last season and 16 of his last 18 games overall, with six 20-plus point games.

Logan has started all 57 games of his Stonehill career, averaging 13.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and a steal per game. He is a 44.5-percent shooter over his career, including 39.6% (59-149) from long distance, while converting 70.2% of his free-throws. Logan, an NE-10 All-Rookie Team pick as a freshman, has totaled 755 points, 390 rebounds and 126 assists in his career.

Stonehill (2-0, 0-0 NE-10), among teams receiving votes in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II preseason poll and ranked sixth in this week's D2SIDA East Regional poll, opens its Northeast-10 schedule on Wednesday when it visits Assumption College at 7:30 p.m. The Skyhawks return home on Saturday to host Saint Anselm College for an NE-10 matchup at 3:30 p.m.
