Senior Adam Fazzini netted a season-high 14 points in the Skyhawks 51-47 win over Saint Michael's.

EASTON, Mass. (December 1, 2012) – Stonehill College, ranked 23^rd in this week's National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II poll, edged out Saint Michael's College 51-47 in Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) action on Saturday evening at Merkert Gymnasium. 

Senior guard Adam Fazzini (Drums, Pa./Crestwood) poured in a season-high and game-high 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field, 3-of-6 from long distance and 3-of-3 at the line to go along with three rebounds (one offensive) and one assist. 

Classmate and forward Raheem May-Thompson (London, England/Towson Catholic) was the only other Stonehill player in double-figures with 12 points (5-of-12) and seven rebounds (three offensive). Sophomore forward Jack Cole (New Providence, N.J./New Providence) notched four points, a game-high 11 caroms and two assists.

Sophomore guard Corey Crawford (Dover, Del./The Phelps School) led the Purple Knights in scoring with 13 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the field and 3-of-5 from long range, five rebounds and one assist. Sophomore forward James Cambronne (De Bary, Fla./The Winchendon School) had 11 points (3-of-3 from beyond the arc), four caroms, and one steal. 

Stonehill shot 33.3-percent from the field, 33.3-percent from long distance and 80.0-percent from the charity stripe. The Skyhawks outrebounded Saint Michael's 39-30 including 12-5 on the offensive glass. The Purple Knights recorded a 36.7-percent field goal percentage, went 46.7-percent from beyond the arc and 50.0-percent at the free throw line. 

Tied 44-44 with 2:40 remaining in the game, May-Thompson gave Stonehill the lead for good with a layup in traffic on a nice feed from senior guard Sam Markle (Branford, Conn./Saint Thomas More). Markle finished the contest with two points, three assists and four rebounds. 

After the Skyhawks got a stop on the other end of the floor, Markle found Hamor in the right corner for a wide open three-pointer to make it 49-44. Markle pushed Stonehill's advantage to 51-44 with a pair of free throws with 13-seconds left to go before Crawford capped the scoring with a fall-away three-pointer from the top of the key. 

Stonehill outscored Saint Michael's by a slim 20-18 margin in bench points and tied for points in the paint at 20-even. The Skyhawks also used an 11-4 advantage in second chance points. 

The Purple Knights led at halftime 25-22 as the visitors posted a 9-6 run to close out the stanza with the scored tied at 16-16. Crawford canned a 3-pointer with six seconds remaining while sophomore Don Ditlefsen (Portland, Ore./Sunset), junior Mike Holton, Jr. (Portland, Ore./The Winchendon School) and Cambronne all contributed layups to the scoring run. 

Stonehill (3-2, 2-2 NE-10) visits Southern New Hampshire University on Tuesday, December 4 for an NE-10 matchup scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saint Michael's (2-3, 1-3 NE-10) travels to Merrimack College for an NE-10 clash on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
