Lammando Earns Third NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week

Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, junior posts back-to-back shutouts to wrap up regular season

EASTON, Mass. (November 5, 2019) – Stonehill College junior Katie Lammando has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time this season by the league office today.

Lammando posted a pair of shutouts in a 2-0 week for Stonehill as the Skyhawks locked up home field for the quarterfinals of the NE10 Tournament set to commence this afternoon. She averaged 3.5 saves per game for the week as Stonehill picked up shutout wins over Saint Michael's College and Mercy College. Lammando opened the week with four saves in Tuesday's 4-0 win at Saint Michael's and then followed that up with three saves in Friday's 3-0 win over Mercy that clinched the No. 4 seed in this week's NE10 Tournament.

Lammando has played all but 45-minutes in the Stonehill goal this season, having started all 16 games for Stonehill after appearing in just 72 minutes over five games in her first two seasons. She ranks fifth in the NE10 and tenth nationally in Division II with her 1.20 goals against average, to go with a .743 save percentage and 3.4 saves per game in 949:47, with five shutouts (4th NE10). Lammando also earned NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week honors on September 10 and 24.

Lammando has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll for her efforts in the classroom. She has appeared in 21 games over her career, posting a 1.17 goals against average and .733 save percentage with 2.6 saves per game in 1,021:44.

Stonehill (11-5, 11-3 NE10) is back in action this afternoon, when it hosts Assumption College, ranked No. 8 in the most recent Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II poll, in quarterfinal round action of the 2019 NE10 Tournament at W.B. Mason Stadium at 1 p.m. The winner advances to the NE10 semifinals on Friday, with the NE10 Championship to follow on Sunday at 1 p.m.
