Field Hockey Shuts Out Saint Michael’s, 4-0

Cameron nets goal and assist, while Brinkman dishes two assists and Lammando posts four second half saves to preserve shutout

COLCHESTER, Vt. (October 29, 2019) – Stonehill College won for the third-straight game, with its third-straight four goal outing, posting a 4-0 triumph over Saint Michael's College at Duffy Field this afternoon.

Sophomore Olivia Cameron continued her hot streak for Stonehill with a goal and assist, logging multiple points for the third-straight game, while classmate Elisha Brinkman dished out a career-high two assists for the first multiple point game of her career. Senior Samantha Day, sophomore Sophie Schreck and freshman Madi Weber also netted goals for the Skyhawks.

Junior Katie Lammando posted four second half saves to preserve her fourth shutout of the season for Stonehill. Senior Anna Hurley finished with nine stops in the Saint Michael's goal.

After a scoreless opening quarter, Stonehill broke through with a pair of second quarter markers. Brinkman assisted on both goals, setting up Cameron's opener 2:25 into the second. Cameron tipped in Brinkman's pass for her team-leading eighth goal of the season – five of which have come over the last three games. Brinkman then connected with Schreck for her fourth goal of the year on a penalty corner with a drive into the right side with 5:37 remaining in the half.

Weber scored her third goal of the season 4:52 into the fourth quarter when she took a pass from sophomore Emma Mawn and chipped a shot into the cage. Day closed out the scoring in the contest with her third goal of the year less than four minutes later when she redirected a pass from the right side by Cameron.

Stonehill (10-5, 10-3 NE10) wraps up its regular season on Friday, when it hosts Mercy College at W.B. Mason Stadium at 3 p.m. Saint Michael's (4-13, 4-9 NE10) hosts 8th-ranked Assumption College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
