EASTON, Mass. (September 24, 2019) – Stonehill College's key defensive contributors to its pair of 1-0 overtime wins last week have picked up weekly field hockey honors from the Northeast-10 Conference, the league announced today.

Senior All-American Michaela Antonellis and junior Katie Lammando have both been honored for their efforts in Stonehill's two 1-0 overtime triumphs last week against No. 7 Assumption College on Tuesday and at Franklin Pierce University on Saturday. Antonellis has earned NE10 Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career, while Lammando has collected NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week accolades for the second time this fall.

Antonellis led a Stonehill defensive effort that had to be perfect in the two 1-0 triumphs, yielding just 8.5 shots and 5.5 penalty corners in the two NE10 wins. The Skyhawks opened the week with a 1-0 double-overtime win against No. 7 Assumption on Tuesday, allowing ten shots, and just four after halftime and none in either overtime, with six penalty corners, including just two in the fourth quarter after the intermission. Antonellis also played a role in Stonehill's gamewinner, taking a corner pass and then delivering a pass to the right side of the scoring arc to freshman Mackenzie Quigley, who assisted on sophomore Sophie Schreck's deciding goal 3:32 into the second overtime. Stonehill limited Franklin Pierce to seven shots, including two after halftime, and five corners in Saturday's 1-0 win in overtime.

Antonellis has anchored a Stonehill defense that ranks third in the NE10 and sixth nationally in Division II with a 0.90 team goals against average, while ranking second in the Conference and sixth nationally with its two shutouts. The team is allowing 15.4 shots and 8.8 penalty corners per game this season. Antonellis leads the Skyhawks with two defensive saves, which is tied for fourth among NE10 leaders, while adding an assist in five games.

Antonellis, a Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) and Synapse Sports first team All-American as a sophomore, is a two-time All-NE10 performer for Stonehill, earning first team honors as a sophomore and second team honors last season. She has started 48 of 63 career games played at the College, posting eight goals and eight assists for 24 points, with five defensive saves. She has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll over the course of her career.

Lammando earns NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the second time this season after not conceding a goal in 142:34 over the two 1-0 overtime wins. She averaged four saves per game in posting the first two shutouts of her collegiate career. Lammando made three saves in Tuesday's 1-0 double-overtime triumph against No. 7 Assumption for her first career shutout, following that up with five stops in Saturday's 1-0 overtime win at Franklin Pierce.

Lammando has started all five games and played all but 15-minutes in the Stonehill goal this season, ranking third in the NE10 and sixth nationally in Division II with her 0.94 goals against average, averaging 6.8 saves per game – good for sixth in the NE10 (8th nationally). She also ranks third in the Conference and fourth nationally with her .872 save percentage and is tied for second in the Conference with the two shutouts.

Lammando is in her first year as Stonehill's starting goalkeeper after having played just 72 minutes over five career appearances through her first two seasons. She has now started five of ten career games played, posting a 0.92 goals against average and .850 save percentage with 34 saves in 391:03 with two shutouts. She has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll two semesters at the College.

Stonehill (3-2, 3-0 NE10), ranked No. 7 in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II poll, is back in action on Wednesday night, when it visits No. 8 Southern New Hampshire University at 6 p.m. The Skyhawks are back home on Saturday to host Pace University for Senior Day at W.B. Mason Stadium at noon.
