Skyhawks will suit up at W.B. Mason Stadium one last time on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Senior Game Roster Announcement
EASTON, Mass. (November 16, 2016) – Two members of the Stonehill College field hockey program will compete at W.B. Mason Stadium one last time when they participate in the Victory Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II Senior Game on Saturday, as part of the NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championships being hosted by the College Friday through Sunday.
Senior captains Shea Healy (Greenfield, Massachusetts/Pioneer Valley) and Sarah Morse (Westminster, Massachusetts/Oakmont Regional) will represent Stonehill in the annual Senior All-Star Game being played at Timothy J. Coughlin '80 Memorial Field at W.B. Mason Stadium on Saturday, November 19, at 3 p.m. The game is being held on the off day between Friday's NCAA Division II National Semifinals and Sunday's National Championship game also being held at W.B. Mason Stadium. Saturday's all-star game will be streamed live via stonehillskyhawks.tv.
Morse, a Longstreth/NFHCA Division II first team All-American as a junior, is a two-time All-Northeast-10 Conference selection after earning the honors for the second straight year this fall. She moved to Stonehill's defensive unit this season after collecting first team All-America and All-Conference honors in the midfield as a junior. Morse has earned NE-10 Defensive Player of the Week honors once this season and led a Skyhawks defensive unit which leads the NE-10 with eight shutouts, while ranking seventh with a 1.49 team goals against average, limiting opponents to 12.2 shots, including 7.8 on goal, and 7.0 penalty corners per game.
Morse, a CoSIDA Academic All-America At Large third team honoree, was named to the NE-10 All-Tournament team as a sophomore and junior, earning Most Outstanding Player honors in 2015 when she helped lead Stonehill to its second straight tournament title. She earned NE-10 Academic All-Conference honors as a junior and has been named to the NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll every semester. Morse has started 61 of her 79 career games played at Stonehill, ranking fifth in program history with 24 career assists, while adding six goals for 36 career points.
Healy earned All-Northeast-10 honors for the first time in her career with first team honors this fall. She started all 20 games in the Stonehill midfield this season and finished tied for second on the team with 17 points (14th NE-10), while ranking third with a career-high matching six goals, including three game-winners, and tied for second with a career-best five assists (7th).
Healy, a Synapse Sports Division II All-Rookie Team and NE-10 All-Rookie Team choice as a freshman, has been named to the NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll every semester and Athletic Director's Honor Roll three semesters over her career. She has started 61 of her 82 career games played and totaled 15 goals and ten assists for 40 career points, including seven game winning goals, while chipping in two defensive saves. Her seven career game-winning goals are tied for eighth on the program's all-time career list.
Stonehill finished its 2016 season with a 14-6 record overall, including a 9-3 mark in the Northeast-10, in its way to earning the eighth NCAA Tournament bid in program history.
