Bergquist posts 12 saves in shutout performance for Warriors

Senior Kerri Bergquist (Mashpee, Mass./Mashpee) stopped all 12 shots on goal she faced for Merrimack to secure the victory. Senior Jen Otis (Penacook, N.H./Merrimack Valley) paced the offense with two goals and an assist, while junior Candace Waldie (North Andover, Mass./North Andover) registered a goal and assist.

Stonehill held a 26-25 edge for shots and a 14-11 advantage in penalty corners. Merrimack also got goals from seniors Jamie Spano (Reading, Mass./Reading Memorial) and April Daugherty (Wakefield, R.I./Lincoln), while junior Jessica Otis (Pittsford, N.Y./East Rochester) dished out two assists for the Warriors.

Sophomore Elizabeth Genovese (Street, Md./North Harford) made five saves over 59:22 in goal for Stonehill, while senior Kaitlyn Curtis (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough) didn't see a shot on goal over the final 10:38.

Waldie scored the lone goal of the first half when she tipped in a shot from the point by Jen Otis 9:24 into the contest for her 16^th marker of the season. Neither team scored the rest of the half as shots finished even at 12 at the intermission. Spano gave the Warriors a two goal lead with her third of the year 8:46 into the second half with a tip in on the left side on Jessica Otis' shot from the right.

Jen Otis added her first of the afternoon, assisted by Waldie off a penalty corner at 50:50. Daugherty put the Warriors in front by four with her 14^th of the season on a rebound at 53:54. Jen Otis wrapped up the scoring at 59:22 with her tenth marker of the year off a feed from Jessica Otis.

Stonehill (7-7, 3-3 NE-10) returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Southern Connecticut State University at 6 p.m. Merrimack (11-2, 5-1 NE-10) visits Saint Michael's College on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
