Senior Jeanette Heimerle (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown West) netted the lone goal for Adelphi.
Stonehill took a one goal lead into halftime when Fizell tapped in a pass from Colligan on the right side of the net off a rebound with 3:56 left in the first half. Adelphi responded early in the second half and scored the equalizer when Heimerle redirected a drive from the top of the arc by senior Crystal Gray (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown West) on the right side for her eighth goal of the season 8:37 into the frame.
Foley netted what would prove to be her second gamewinning goal in the last week when she one-timed a pass from Ciccia off a deflected shot at 57:56. Foley struck again less than four minutes later with an insurance goal as she tipped in a blast from the top of the arc by Ingersoll off a corner for her third goal of the season at 61:15.
Stonehill (3-3, 0-0 NE-10) is back in action on Saturday when it hosts rival Bentley University for the Northeast-10 Conference opener for both at W.B. Mason Stadium at noon. Adelphi (4-2, 0-0 NE-10) hosts No. 3 UMass Lowell on Saturday at 1 p.m.
