Pinkham earns second team All-District I accolades, while Nelson named to third team as Stonehill places three on women's at large teams overall
Senior All-American Lindsey Pinkham (Skowhegan, Maine/Skowhegan) earns second team honors for Stonehill, while junior All-American Kathryn Nelson (Shrewsbury, Mass./Shrewsbury) was named to the All-District third team. They join Amy Bartlett, '02, who was also a member of the lacrosse team, as the first three Academic All-District honorees in the field hockey team's history and they are joined on the district at large team this spring by junior All-American Samantha Lynott (Holbrook, N.Y./East Sachem) from the women's lacrosse team.

Pinkham earns Academic All-District honors for the first time following an All-America career for Stonehill. She graduated Sunday after earning a 3.55 cumulative grade point average through the fall semester while majoring in psychology at the College. Pinkham earned NE-10 Academic All-Conference honors for field hockey this past fall and has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA)/Gladiator by SGI National Academic Squad as a junior and senior.
Pinkham was a consensus All-America selection for Stonehill this past fall, earning first team honors from womensfieldhockey.com as well as Longstreth/NFHCA second team accolades. The two-time All-Northeast-10 selection, earning first team honors this past fall, finished second on the team with 24 points and nine goals to go with six assists, netting two gamewinning goals this fall. She is also Stonehill's primary corner passer, with the Skyhawks leading the NE-10 with 11.48 penalty corners per game (3rd nationally) after leading all of Division II in 2009 under her direction. Pinkham earned NE-10 Player of the Week honors once last fall, was named to the All-Tournament team at the NCAA Division II Championships and participated in the NFHCA Division II North/South Senior All-Star Game.
Pinkham played in 87 games over her career, with 68 starts, totaling 22 goals and 16 assists for 60 points, scoring seven gamewinning goals. She was also an All-Conference performer on Stonehill's indoor track team for two and a half years, capturing the indoor 800-meter championship her junior year, and was named to the NE-10 Academic All-Conference squad for indoor track and field as well. Pinkham has earned a spot on the NE-10 Commissioner's and Athletic Director's honor rolls every semester.

Nelson also earns Academic All-District honors for the first time after enjoying an All-America season for Stonehill last fall. She has earned a 3.50 cumulative grade point average while majoring in psychology at the College. Nelson has been selected to the Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA National Academic Squad all three years and been named to the NE-10 Commissioner's and Athletic Director's honor rolls every semester.

The second team All-Northeast-10 selection led Stonehill with 41 points (6th NE-10) and 19 goals (3rd) to go with three assists, scoring a Conference-high nine gamewinning goals – three coming in overtime. Nelson ranks eighth nationally in goals per game and 12th for points per game. She earned NE-10 and womensfieldhockey.com Division II Player of the Week honors once this season and earned All-Tournament team honors at the NE-10 Championships.
Nelson, an NE-10 All-Rookie team selection as a freshman in 2008, has appeared in 62 games over her career at Stonehill, with 45 starts, and totaled 33 goals and six assists for 72 points, scoring ten career game winning goals. She enters her senior season ranked fourth on the program's career goals list and sixth in career points.
Stonehill (16-7, 9-1 NE-10) earned its second-straight NCAA Tournament bid this past fall, reaching the national semifinals for the second-straight year at the Division II Fall Championships Festival, in Louisville, Ky., falling to eventual national champions UMass Lowell. The Skyhawks were ranked fifth in the final Kookaburra/NFHCA Division II poll and finished second in the NE-10 standings to the River Hawks.
Stonehill has also been recognized as a team for its academic excellence, earning the Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Academic Team Award and being recognized by the NCAA for having the top team GPA among field hockey teams at the Fall Festival.
