Six Skyhawks earn All-NE10 honors, one selected to NE10 All-Rookie Team

NE10 Football Postseason Awards Release

EASTON, Mass. (November 19, 2018) – Seven members of the Stonehill College football program have collected postseason honors as the Northeast-10 Conference released its All-Conference and postseason award recipients, as selected by the league's ten head coaches this afternoon.

Stonehill placed six on the NE10 All-Conference teams, led by senior tight end Justin Lamb and junior wide receiver Andrew Jamiel with second team honors. Earning third team honors are senior offensive lineman Owen Murray, senior defensive lineman John Ejiofor, junior running back Brian Kearns, Jr. and junior placekicker Matt Haite . Stonehill's six All-NE10 picks give the program 91 all-time.

In addition, freshman defensive lineman Rudy Holland earned NE10 All-Rookie Team honors, Stonehill 20 selections all-time since the Conference started the All-Rookie program in 2008.

Lamb earns All-NE10 second team honors for the second-straight year after recording four receptions for 43 yards in ten starts at tight end for Stonehill. He was also instrumental in a Skyhawks offense that averaged 187.2 rushing yards per game as a team, second-best in the NE10 and 41st nationally. Lamb had a season-best two receptions for 12 yards against nationally-ranked LIU Post, an NCAA Tournament participant, on September 15, and had a season-long 26-yard catch in the Skyhawks 57-54 triple-overtime win at Saint Anselm College on September 8.

Lamb appeared in 35 games over his Stonehill career, finishing with 23 receptions for 283 yards and two touchdowns. He has been named to the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll for his efforts in the classroom.

Jamiel earns All-NE10 honors for the third-straight year with second team honors at wide receiver for the second time after being named to the first team as a sophomore. He finished the season with 60 receptions for 698 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 11.6 yards per catch and 69.8 yards per game. Jamiel ranks second in the NE10 for receptions (23rd nationally) and fifth in receiving yards, posting ten catches for a season-high 145 yards and a touchdown at Pace University on September 29, while collecting a season-best 11 receptions for 78 yards at American International College on November 3. His yardage total ranks tenth on the program's single-season list, while the receptions total ranks fifth all-time.

Jamiel, the 2016 NE10 Rookie of the Year, who already owns Stonehill's career record for receptions with 233, will enter his senior season ranked second all-time with 2,583 career yards, just 161 yards shy of Nate Robitaille's '15 record of 2,744 yards, with Jamiel's 23 career touchdown receptions just two shy of Robitaille's career mark. Jamiel also ranks eighth all-time with 2,941 career all-purpose yards, ninth with 140 career points and tied for sixth with 23 career touchdowns. He earned All-New England honors as a sophomore from the New England Football Writers and has been named to the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Ejiofor earns All-NE10 honors for the second-straight season with third team honors after leading a Stonehill defensive line with 62 tackles (23 solo), including 6.0 tackles for a loss of 17 yards, with 3.0 sacks for a loss of 11, a fumble recovery, quarterback hurry and pass breakup. He posted a career-high ten tackles (three solo), with 1.0 sacks for a loss of two, at rival Bentley University on October 20.

Ejiofor, who started the last 27 games of his career on the defensive line, started 30 of his 42 career games played for Stonehill. He finished his career with 152 tackles (68 solo), including 20.0 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, four pass breakups, a fumble recovery and two blocked kicks. He is one of just 11 players in program history with multiple blocked kicks over their career. The two-year captain has been named to the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for his efforts in the classroom.

Murray earns All-NE10 honors for the first time with his third team selection. He anchored a solid offensive line unit for Stonehill that paved the way for the NE10's second-ranked rushing offense with 187.2 yards per game, which ranks 41st nationally. The Skyhawks averaged 329.3 yards and 22.5 points per game in all this season. Murray started 26 of 34 games played over his career on the Skyhawks offensive line.

Kearns, Jr. earns All-NE10 honors for the first time in his career with third team honors at running back. He led the NE10 with his school-record matching 12 rushing touchdowns this season, while ranking second with 961 rushing yards and 211 attempts. Kearns led Stonehill and is third among NE10 scoring leaders with his 72 points this fall, good for sixth on the program's single-season list, while posting the fourth-highest single-season rushing yardage total and third-highest attempts totals all-time. He became the program's second player to receive the New England Football Writers weekly Gold Helmet Award multiple times after carrying the ball a program-record 44 times for 180 yards and three touchdowns in the Skyhawks triple-overtime win at Saint Anselm. He posted a season-high 235 yards on 36 touchdowns and two scores against Merrimack College on October 13.

Kearns, Jr., who posted a career-best 243 yards on 34 carries against rival Bentley in 2017, enters his senior year tied with Eddie Vachon '11 for the program's career record with 24 career rushing touchdowns. Kearns, Jr. ranks fifth all-time with 421 rush attempts and sixth with 1,987 yards and 156 points, while his 26 career touchdowns scored are second all-time, eight shy of Vachon's career mark (34). Kearns, Jr. has also been named to the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll over his career.

Haite earns All-NE10 honors for the first time in his career with his third team selection. Named to the Fred Mitchell Award Preseason Watch List, he finished the year ranked second on the team with 51 points, converting 9-of-14 field goal attempts, including a career-long matching 49-yard field goal at Pace on September 29, while connecting on 24-of-27 extra point attempts. He recorded three field goals of 40-yards or better for the season and averaged 54-yards on kickoffs, with nine touchbacks. Haite posted a career-high 15 points as he made three field goals and converted all six extra-point attempts in Stonehill's triple-overtime win at Saint Anselm.

Haite, an NE10 All-Rookie Team selection as a freshman, enters his senior year ranked second in program history with 29 career field goals, just four shy of Steve Grzywacz's '16 record of 33, and third all-time with 88 career PATs and 169 points. He has been named to the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll for his efforts in the classroom.

Holland made an impact as a freshman in the Stonehill defensive line rotation, appearing in all ten games, with one start. He finished the year with 24 tackles (nine solo), including 2.0 tackles for a loss of seven yards, and 1.0 sacks for a loss of two. Holland registered a season-high six tackles (one solo) at Southern Connecticut State University on September 22, while adding 1.5 tackles for a loss of six yards, with a sack against Merrimack on October 13.

Stonehill finished its 2018 season with a 2-8 record overall, including a 2-7 mark in the NE10.
