Jamiel highlights All-Conference selections with first team honors
NE10 Football Postseason Awards Announcement
EASTON, Mass. (November 21, 2017) – Four members of the Stonehill College football program have earned All-Northeast-10 Conference honors, as selected by the league's ten head coaches, the Conference office announced today.
Sophomore wide receiver Andrew Jamiel (Yarmouth, Massachusetts/Dennis-Yarmouth) headlines the four All-Conference selections for Stonehill by earning a spot on the NE10 first team for the first time in his career. A trio of Skyhawks were named All-NE10 for the first time in their careers, with their spot on the second team as senior Nick Bona (Peabody, Massachusetts/Peabody) and junior John Ejiofor (Burlington Township, New Jersey/Burlington Township) were both named on defense, while junior Justin Lamb (Plymouth, Massachusetts/Plymouth South) was named on offense.
It marks the second straight year Stonehill has had an offensive player earn first team All-NE10 honors, with Jamiel being the 12th offensive player in program history to be named to the NE10 first team, and the 29th overall. Jamiel leads the NE10 for the second-straight year with 81 receptions, while ranking second nationally in Division II with 9.0 receptions per game after leading the country with a program-record matching 91 catches in 2016 – just two shy of the NCAA Division II record for freshmen. He is second in the NE10 with his career-best 1,035 receiving yards and third with his program-record matching 13 touchdown receptions, ranking seventh nationally with 115.0 receiving yards per game and 11th in touchdowns. His team-high 78 points scored this year rank fifth in the NE10 and is tied for second-best in program history.
Jamiel was named the NE10's Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in his career, while also receiving the National Football Foundation/Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Division II/III Gold Helmet Award from the New England Football Writers Association and D2Football.com Offensive Player of the Week accolades, after matching his own program record with 18 receptions for an NE10 record 294 yards and NE10 and program-record matching five touchdowns in Stonehill's 56-30 win over Pace University on November 4. He owns four of the top five reception games in program history, having posted ten-plus catches three times this season (nine career) and five 100-yard receiving games (nine career), including his first 200-yard game.
The 2016 NE10 Rookie of the Year and second team All-NE10 performer, posted just the third 1,000-yard receiving season in program history this fall, matching Nate Robitaille's '15 2014 total which ranks second all-time in Stonehill history, while finishing third all-time for receptions in a season this season. His program-record matching 13 touchdowns fell just one shy of the program's all-time single-season touchdown record. Jamiel already ranks third in program history with his 172 career receptions and 20 career touchdown catches, while his 1,878 career yards rank sixth all-time after just two seasons.
Bona earns All-NE10 honors for the first time in his career with his second team selection. One of only 19 student-athletes in Stonehill history to record over 200 career tackles, he led the Skyhawks this season with 70 tackles, including a team-high 41 solo, with 3.5 tackles for a loss of nine yards, two interceptions and four pass breakups. He ranks seventh among NE10 tackles leaders, fifth for solo tackles and tenth in interceptions. Bona recorded a season-high nine tackles twice this fall, in wins at Bloomsburg (Pa.) University in week one and against American International College to cap the season.

Bona finished his career ranked 13th in program history with 235 tackles in 43 career games played, starting 30, including his final 22 career games. The captain also ranks eighth all-time with 131 solo tackles, having also totaled 7.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, four interceptions and 11 pass breakups over his career.
Ejiofor, one of three captains for Stonehill this season, along with Bona, anchored the Skyhawks defensive line this fall with 41 tackles, including 20 solo, with 5.0 tackles for a loss of 18 yards, 1.0 sacks for a loss of 13, a forced fumble, pass breakup and blocked kick. He recorded a career-high seven tackles twice this season, also contributing 1.5 tackles for a loss, 1.0 sacks and a forced fumble at the University of New Haven on October 14.
Ejiofor has blocked two kicks over his career, including an extra point in Stonehill's 38-27 win over AIC on November 11, which ranks sixth in program history. He enters his senior season with 90 career tackles, including 45 solo, with 13.0 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and three pass breakups.
Lamb started all ten games for Stonehill at tight end this season, finishing third on the team with 202 receiving yards on 15 receptions and two touchdowns. He posted a career-high 82 receiving yards on four catches with a touchdown against Southern Connecticut State on September 9, while adding a career-best five catches for 53 yards and a score at New Haven on October 14. Lamb was also a key blocker for a Skyhawks offense which finished third in the NE10 in scoring with 31.6 points per game and fifth in total offense at 387.6 yards per game.
Stonehill capped its 2017 season with a 6-4 record overall, marking its third finish above .500 over the last five years, including a 5-4 mark in the NE10, with its fourth winning season in Conference play over the last six years.
