The Game
Stonehill College looks to close out its 2017 on a winning note as it hosts American International College for a Northeast-10 Conference matchup on Timothy J. Coughlin (COG-lin) '80 Memorial Field at W.B. Mason Stadium this afternoon. The Skyhawks aim to finish off their season with back to back wins for the second-straight season after rolling to a 56-30 win over Pace here at W.B. Mason Stadium last weekend, while the Yellow Jackets have dropped four straight after a 40-3 defeat at the hands of 10th-ranked Assumption in Springfield last weekend.

Saluting Our Seniors!
This afternoon marks the final game in the collegiate careers of Stonehill's 19 seniors. The class has been key members of a program which has won 22 games over their careers, including 17 in NE10 play.

Fred C. Petti Award
Prior to kickoff for today's game, senior student assistant coach Jake Ehrhardt (Mahwah, N.J.) will be presented with the Fred C. Petti Male Scholar-Athlete Award for having the highest grade point average among all male student-athletes at Stonehill for the 2016-17 academic year. Ehrhart, an accounting major, maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA for the past academic year.

Golden Performance
For the second time in three weeks, a Stonehill sophomore is being feted as the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation's Division II/III Gold Helmet Award recipient, as selected by the New England Football Writers. Sophomore wide receiver Andrew Jamiel (Yarmouth, Mass.) joins running back and classmate Brian Kearns, Jr. (North Arlington, N.J.), who earned the honors following the Skyhawks 41-35 overtime win against rival Bentley two weeks ago. It marks the third time Stonehill has had two Gold Helmet recipients in the same season, with teammates Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pa.) and Donovan Phanor (Portsmouth, N.H.) achieving the feat in 2015, and Tony Dello Iacono '95 and Mike McLucas '95 doing so in 1994. Jamiel broke one Northeast-10 record and matched another in leading the Skyhawks to a 56-30 win over Pace on Saturday. He matched his own program record with 18 receptions for an NE10 record 294 yards and an NE10 and program record matching five touchdowns. Kearns Jr. led a Stonehill rushing attack that piled up 327 yards against Bentley, finishing with a career-high 243 yards on a career-best 34 carries (7.1 yards/att) and two touchdowns. Jamiel earns the 11th weekly Gold Helmet in Stonehill football history and is the first wide receiver to be honored.

Offensive Player of the Week
Sophomore wide receiver Andrew Jamiel (Yarmouth, Mass.) was selected as the NE10 Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this season and second time in his career overall for his record-breaking performance agains Pace on Saturday. Jamiel, who joins senior quarterback Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pa.) as Skyhawks to earn Offensive Player of the Week honors this season, posted the second-highest receiving yardage total in Division II this season (294), matching the D2-high with five touchdown catches and the second-highest reception total (18). Foltz earned the honors for the fourth time in his career on September 4 after completing 22-of-35 passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns, adding a fourth touchdown on the ground, in the Skyhawks season-opening 44-28 win at Bloomsburg (Pa.)..

They're Honored
Senior quarterback Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pa.) and senior running back Malachi Baugh (Stoughton, Mass.) were both selected to the NE10's weekly honor roll on Monday for their efforts in Saturday's 56-30 victory over Pace. Foltz completed 25-of-37 passes for 385 yards and a program-record matching six touchdowns, posting an efficiency rating of 211.2 in the win. Baugh recorded the first 100-yard rushing game of his career, posting 111 yards on 13 carries with a touchdown.

He's Gone National
Sophomore Andrew Jamiel's (Yarmouth, Mass.) record-setting performance last weekend earned him national recognition as the D2Football.com Co-Offensive Player of the Week, as well as a spot on the NCAA Division II Football Top Plays of the Week.

Finishing Strong
Stonehill looks to finish its season with back to back wins for the second-straight year. The Skyhawks have won their final game of the season the last three years, posting a 38-21 win at rival Bentley last season, a 17-14 win at Merrimack in 2015, and a 19-11 victory at Saint Anselm in 2014.

Home Sweet Home
After playing at W.B. Mason Stadium just twice over the opening six weeks of the season, three of Stonehill's final four games are at home, including back to back home games against Pace University and American International College to close out the season. The Skyhawks are 3-1 this season at home, winning its last three on Coughlin Memorial Field against Saint Anselm (28-14), rival Bentley (41-35 in OT) and Pace (56-30). This afternoon marks the first time the Skyhawks have finished up at home since 2012 against Southern Connecticut State (L, 13-10).

High Score
Stonehill's 56 points in Saturday's win over Pace matched the W.B. Mason Stadium record set by the Skyhawks in a 56-7 victory over Saint Anselm in 2007. It marks Stonehill's first 50-point scoring game since a 51-13 win in the Setters previous trip to Easton in 2015.

Record Afternoon
Sophomore wide receiver Andrew Jamiel (Yarmouth, Mass.) broke the NE10 single-game record with his 294 receiving yards against Pace on Saturday, breaking the previous mark of 269 yards by Merrimack College's Isaiah Voegeli against Saint Anselm College in 2012, and posting just the second 200-yard receiving game in program history by breaking the program record of 212 receiving yards by Brian Adamson against Merrimack in 1996. Jamiel also matched the NE10 and program records of five receiving touchdowns set by Stonehill's Mike Plitcha '06 against Saint Anselm in 2005 and Bentley University's Dallas Mall in 2001.

Not Finished Yet
After breaking Stonehill's career passing yardage record and becoming the program's first 7,000-yard passer (7,022) against Pace last weekend, senior quarterback Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pa.) enters today's game three touchdown passes shy of Logan Meyer '14's career touchdowns mark of 62. Foltz's 61.4-percent career completion percentage is also on pace to set a new program mark.

Preseason Prognostications
Stonehill has been picked to finish sixth in the Northeast-10 according to the Conference's preseason coaches poll released last month. The NE10's d2football.com blogger Paul Falewicz has a much more high presaeson opinion of the Skyhawks by picking them third in his preseason NE10 poll.

Aye, Aye Captains
Seniors Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pa.) and Nick Bona (Peabody, Mass.), as well as junior John Ejiofor (Burlington Township, N.J.) have been selected to serve as team captains for the 2017 season. Foltz returns as captain for the second straight year, while Bona and Ejiofor were also elected by their teammates and coaching staff. It marks the second straight year the Skyhawks have had a junior captain after Foltz was the first since 1999 to do so a year ago.
